Default NHL Playoffs 2008

The playoffs are shaping up to be exciting this year. What are everybody's first round picks? Here is how I think things will turn out:

In the East:

Montreal Canadiens 3 — 3 Boston Bruins
Pittsburgh Penguins 4 — 0 Ottawa Senators
Washington Capitals 2 — 3 Philadelphia Flyers
New York Rangers 4 — 1 New Jersey Devils

In the West:

Detroit Red Wings 4 — 2 Nashville Predators
San Jose Sharks 3 — 2 Calgary Flames
Colorado Avalanche 3 — 2 Minnesota Wild
Anaheim Ducks 2 — 3 Dallas Stars

I've been a Devils fan for years but they've been slacking off lately so I'm goin with the Sharks this year. (they're 40 minutes away from here) Still not sure if I want to become a Sharks fan permanently (they started back in 90 or 91 and I was already a Devils fan)It's
hard to choose loyalty over location...

here are my choices...
Canadiens, Penquins, Caps, Devils
Predators (I HATE DETROIT so I'm hoping for an unlikely upset), Sharks, Wild (dont want sharks playing the AVS too much bad luck in the playoffs in the past) and Ducks

Funny that your only upset pick is probably one of the biggest possible upsets to choose.

Playoffs start tonight! Only three of the players in my pool are playing tonight, but it will be enough to give me an idea of how they're going to do for the round.

agree with your picks for the west but the Devils have been keeping something in reserve since securing a playoff place...think we'll surprise people (including me...a big fan) in the east. Think the Canadiens will pip us to the title in the East and go on to secure the big ugly jug.

The Devils didnt look good today, neither did the Sharks, I left My friends early because the score was 3-1 at the end of 2nd period...
1 game doesnt mean much, so we gotta see what happens with the next game...
Anybody see the big fights at the end of the Penquins and Senators game? I'm sure they'll all finish the business in the next game... its looking like a really physical series!

Gary Roberts is a total champion.

While it's true that one game doesn't mean much, it's very impressive for the Rangers to steal one from NJ at home. It's even more impressive for a team like Calgary, which doesn't have a very good road record. The Sharks looked really weak. Campbell and Thornton barely did anything (1 assist each). Iginla, on the other hand, played an amazing game.

Pittsburgh sweeps Ottawa, and Jogurt gets +1 prediction points!

Things aren't looking good for New Jersey, especially after Madden faceoffed the puck into his own empty net...

Yeah I wasnt too happy about that. I could see the Devils slackin at the end of the season and it didnt look good, look at where they are now.
The Sharks game last Tuesday was awesome! Hope they can turn it around and close out the series with the next 2 games.

(Look at predators too, they DO have a chance, but not too much. They need to win at least one in Detroit...)

That 4-goal comeback for the Flames was really something, but then the Sharks held them to only 10 shots in the next game. That series is so back and forth. It's probably the most interesting one this round.

Yeah, they've never won in Detroit in the playoffs. Also, after the last couple of games, I have a feeling Osgood will be getting the starts for the rest of the round. Hasek is one good goaltender, but he's so inconsistent it's scary.
