Default Neutopia I, II or none at all?

The Neutopia games look interesting and I’m considering getting one for myself on the VC; so I was wondering… should I start with the first one, would it be better to go with the second one or should I even bother with them? As always, I appreciate any help I can get on this question.

They're both good games. If you like the old school Zelda games then download these immediately. I'd start with the first one though as the second is a direct sequel.

Thanks for the advice, you two. Alright, I got some more questions about Neutopia. First, how big is the quest compared to the classic Zelda games and is there as strong a focus on exploring? Next, is there lot of item collecting in the game?

It took me maybe 5-6 hours to finish it. It's very similar to the first Legend of Zelda. You wander around, go into houses, get clues from people as to where to go. Sometimes you need to find special items to access the next dungeon. It's a little more linear than Zelda though. There are four worlds, each containing 2 dungeons. You go through the dunegon, pushing blocks and bombing walls like in Zelda, find the big key and a Crystal Ball which acts as your map and find an upgrade (either a shield, sword or armor) and defeat a boss which nets you a medallion when defeated. All your secondary items are found in the overworld and are needed to enter one of the two dungeons, usually the second. The game gets harder as it goes on. You do a fair share of exploring just trying to find where the next item you need is hidden so you can enter a dungeon.

Pretty Big, I'd say Bigger than the Orignal Zelda, No Doubt. There are 2 Dungeons in every world and about 4 worlds. I'm not done yet, But it is a great game.

Does it challenge ALTTP?

No, ALttP is way better. Neutopia games are pretty good and fun if you like the Zelda style, but they aren't better than any Zelda game.

I like to think of them as a Prequel to ALTTP - as if ALTTP was a spiritual successor (although the two games really have very little to do with each other, abeit similar style, graphics and storylines)

What is ALTTP? What system is it for? Is it a cookie of some sort? If so, can I have one (I hope it’s chocolate flavor).
