I just got a zelda 2 cart online from ebay.
I have not got a NES yet to try it on (will soon) but the cart is in german and says NES-AL-NOS at the bottom. So i am guessing its a german copy, so i am wondering will it work on a UK PAL NES? and will the game text be in english? Thanks |

It will most likely NOT work on your UK NES.
Look for a PAL-A or PAL-B on the Cart, and Germany is in the PAL-B region, and if I'm not mistaken, the UK was in the PAL-A. PAL-A and PAL-B are not compatible, as in, different regions. (If you performed the region-free modification on your NES, it'll work). And no, the game is complete in German.

You have to lift Pin 4 of the 10NES chip in the system (disassembly required) to get other games to work.

What should this sentence mean?
It looks like you think that Zelda II has been released in the US and not in Europe, while on the contrary it was released in Europe a full 4 months before the US release: 9th february VS 4th june. Anyway Shoemaker, he's buying an ORIGINAL NES CART. You should know that from the internet you can just download digital stuff, downloading real life objects like an ORIGINAL NES CART just doesn't work. |

Clearing some things up.
Your German PAL Zelda II should work on your UK PAL NES.. but why all that trouble? Just get it on VC. The batteries inside NES catridges to save game data ran out in most of the old NES games. On another note: There was never a German version of Zelda II. OK, the box and manual were in German but the game and screentext always was English. The first Zelda game with German screentext was A Link to the Past on SNES. Last edited by SKTTR; 27th February 2008 at 05:20 PM. |

I think shoemaker meant why can't he just download the VC game to the Wii, instead of buying the original cart.
