Default What Neo Geo games do you think will be the next to come on VC?

Assuming that there'll be more Neo Geo games to come to the VC in the near future which is probably going to happen, what NG games do you think will come to the VC next?

I'm thinking these will be the next Neo Geo games to come:

King of Fighters '95
Art of Fighting 3
NAM 1975
Andro Dunos
Alpha Mission II
Fatal Fury Special
World Heroes 2
Samurai Shodown III

If I could pick only 1, it'll probably be either Fatal Fury Special or World Heroes 2. Then again, it's entirely a guessing game!

I'm hoping for more Fatal Fury, and FF Special is the logical assumption.

I think we would continue to see more early Neo Geo games, tho, like Nam 1975, Cyber Lip, and Crossed Swords.

Then again, the Metal Slug games came along from 1996 onward, so later titles obviously aren't out of the question. I believe even Fatal Fury/Garou: Mark of the Wolves would fit on the Wii's flash memory without compression. However, it's unlikely that games that are part of a series would be released out of order.

But frankly, I wouldn't daydream about it too much. The current Neo Geo library on the VC, as well as the rate at which the games are released, is only slightly better than the N64's.

The 3DO was mostly a Panasonic thing (and had MUCH worse games), Neo Geo was, y'know, good.

I really want to see 'Nam, Beast Busters (although I think that'd be a VCA job) and if hell freezes over Samurai Shodown RPG.

Who cares, the next Neo Geo game will probably be on one of SNKs numerous compilations. If it's not, then there are quite a few great games SNK can bring out. Hopefully Sengoku 3? As long as we don't get a Sengoku compilation afterwards.

About time. What’s even more interesting is that according to Wikipedia Ironclad is a Neo Geo CD title. Also it never came out in North America.

King of Fighters 95 is coming out in Japan this month. Great choice. Too bad you can already get it on a collection with other KoF titles though.

I thought '99 was (supposedly) one of the worse entries. I want Last Blade and EVERY single other Neo Geo game SNK can throw onto VC...And the CD games would also be nice.

'99 is the best out of the NESTS games, and one of my personal faves in the series.

The ratings for both World Heroes 2 and Fatal Fury Special were taken down.

No matter what Neo Geo game they put on VC, I'm scared I'll spend the whopping 900 points just to find it on a compilation disc. I currently own all three compilations for Wii (Arcade Classics Vol. 1, KOF, and Samurai Showdown), and I'm aching for some World Heroes 2 action, as well as Nam 1975

I would just like to warn everyone that samurai showdown anthology (games 1-6) and The King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga(games 94-98 ) are coming out soon so you may want to hold off on your Neo Geo purchases.

Wow, UK's only getting them now? Holy crap, and I thought the delays in N.A. were bad!

Both collections are out in EU for quite some time.
They're on bargain for 15€ each.
Still I don't want them.

There’s Ironclad which should be coming soon. It will take a while though as it will likely be an import title.

Yeah, I am sure most people who are interested in the Neo Geo would like to see Pulstar hit the VC some time. Problem is SNK, D3 are very shy of releasing their later Neo Geo titles.

Need to correct my standpoint.
When I found Samurai Shodown Anthology for 13 EUR last month I grabbed it.
That was a good decision.

But I don't like the KOF Collection cos..
why are not all KoF games on it?
seems a bit rippyoffy.

I would snag the Metal Slug Anthology collection too,
now that i know it's the complete collection.
Only hope I can find it as cheap as SamShoAnt.

Just beware that there is no Classic Controller Support

As far as I know, the Neo Geo Controller had... umm.. 5 buttons?
A, B, C, D and START ?!

So, I think it's playable enough with the Wiimote, isn't it?

I do just fine playing Metal Slug with just the Wiimote.

It doesn't have them all because it's the Orochi Saga collection. It's only supposed to contain the games that revolved around that part of the Story. In fact, the original collection only had '95-'97, since the other two were "Dream Match" games. But mostly they just want to milk their most popular series when they can.

That's a matter of personal opinion I guess. I don't think I'd fancy fumbling for the A button everytime I want to throw a grenade or worse having to shake the remote in some hideously contrived manner. 1 and 2 are jump and shoot so grenades/missiles get bumped to an awkward mechanism.

Hmm... so Metal Slug needs 3 buttons... Jump, Shoot and Grenade?
And Grenades are always waggling? No button config to set it on A or B?
No CC or GC support either?

Well, I don't mind the waggling, as long as it's only for one move I think it'll be working good for me.
The main factor of my decision isn't the price but the closeity to the original.

All 6 Metal Slug games on a bargain retail disc, 60Hz, running in original speed, uncut, for 15 €.
or 2 Metal Slug games on the Virtual Console, 50Hz, much slower PAL version, cut, for 18 €.

Compromise me some grenade waggling, but as much as I love the VC, me already knows what's the better deal.

To be honest I hated using the Wii remote and GCN controller for the Metal Slug Anthology. Classic controller is the way to go, but that also means a potential long wait for the rest of the series on the VC.

Edit: Just to clairfy the Metal Slug Anthology does not allow Classic Controller support, but it does allow the GCN controller.

And what's bad about controlling it with the GC?

And is there no Wiimote+Nunchuck combo?

And if you lived in PAL land, would you go with the gore-less and slow, blackborders, more expesive EU-VC versions just because you can play it with a Classic Controller?

I can't really comment on the PAL versions, but it does use the nunchuck Wii remote combo. When you waggle the nunchuck it tosses a greande. The GCN is a little better, I ran into the same issue I had with playing NES games on the original Animal crossing. You have to use the tiny D-pad which is not placed close enough to the buttons and the grenade button was in a awkward spot. Don't get me wrong it works, but its not always comfortable. However if you love Metal Slug you'll still love it w/o the classic controller.

I thought you could use the analogue stick, if I'm not mistaken.
