Mystical Ninja or Contra III?

I have 900 points left and I am kind of interested in both Mystical Ninja and Contra III, but I don't know which one I should get.

The stuff I have already is Starfox, Kirby's Adventure, Gunstar Heroes and Donkey Kong Country. I am very interested in platformers, so both games are very interesting to me.

The game I really want is Kirby's Dreamland 3, so I was thinking of saving the points until tomorrow to see if it comes out then, but I'm guessing the chances are pretty slim. I would also like to have Super Mario RPG or Super Metroid, and all three games are in the coming soon list.

So I guess my question is, should I be saving the points in case any of those three games will get here soon (is there any way of telling anyway?), or should I just break and buy one of the two aforementioned games that I can't decide between?

I would say you might have a wait for those other excellent games you mentioned. Go on be wreckless buy a new game today!!

To decide between Mystical Ninja and Contra III is difficult. Both are genre defining but very different games. Both excellent in 2 players too. I guess it depends what you like really. Contra III is a no nonsense run n' gun platformer with some interesting Mode 7 FX thrown in, excellent playability and set pieces. Goemon is less of a platformer and more of a adventure game in some ways, it's got a funny sense of humour, there is loads to explore, very Japanesey, cool mini games, a unique gaming experience.

If someone had a gun to my head to make me choose I think I'd go for Contra III to be honest though.

The first game I ever downloaded from the Virtual Console was Contra III / Super Probotector. I highly recommend it. Excellent fun, great music, great bosses.

If I had to choose between the two it would be Contra III, but definately wait for tomorrow to come around before deciding.

I would say MYSTICAL NINJA! Its just a more easy (In Contra III, I never got past Screen 2 lol.), fun, and erm... colorful experience.


I've only played Mystical Ninja once but, it was fun!

Mystic is much harder IMO and requires 2 player really for you to even stand a chance IMO.

So unless you have a mate who likes games like MN, I say Contra.

Then again, I suck at games like MN, so... It mightn't be that hard at all

But if you aren't truly sure that you want the games, then don't get em.

I've done this with a few games and regretted it.

So just wait, as Taint says, there's a new set of games hitting in less than 24 hours time. So just wait and see

Alright, I'll wait until tomorrow only because I'd probably kill something for Kirby's Dreamland 3 right now.

And...I guess I'll just see how I feel keeping all of your comments in mind tomorrow if anything interesting doesn't roll in. I've been a smart enough shopper to have three out of four of my VC purchases to be 2 player games already and I don't think I could go wrong with another.

Yeah, so I got Contra III.

I'm happy with it. It's good, and I think I could enjoy it a lot if I can get better at it. The co-op just doubles the fun factor though.

Yeah co-op Contra is the best.
