Default How much noise is too much noise on the Wii?

Hi. I am not sure if I have a problem with my Wii. It seems to make a lot of noise when I put in a game like SSBB. But the game still plays fine.

Is this normal? I'm guessing it is because the game takes up more memory than say, WiiSports. I just needed confirmation about this.

Also, I made the terrible mistake of putting the game in the wrong way. I put the labeled side in the wrong way. When I realized that I did that with SSBB I finally put it in the correct way.

That's when I got a message that said, disc read error. After starting over and retrying, it worked. This is the only time I saw that message. Should I be worried that I might have permanently messed up my Wii because I was stupid to put the disc in incorrectly?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

If something like that permanently injured your Wii, then there was something wrong with your Wii to begin with. Not being able to read the label side of a disc shouldn't hurt a media player. The disc read error is just that—it was telling you it couldn't read the wrong side of the disc.

As long as the noise your Wii makes is confined to loading and processing noises, I'm sure you're fine. If it's screeching and whining and making popping and crackling noises, then you might consider having it checked out.

The system is working fine. I'm guessing this is just the usual noise people get.

Thanks!

Big games like SSBB and Metroid Prime 3 always make noises when playing. The wii is just having a hard time keeping up with them.

I've never heard my Wii do more than do little beeps and chirps no matter what I'm doing or playing.

You should try Brawl.

Actually, I also noticed my Wii getting really busy when playing Mario Kart Wii. I think its mainly the cooling fan gearing up to keep the CPU happy. The poor guy must be working real hard with all the high end CGIs the Kart is demanding

Anyway, I hope this is really the reason, because I haven't noticed this with any other game yet... (haven't got brawl though).

Mine's been noisy since I bought Mario Kart. It only did it with Mario Kart initially, but now it's really loud no matter what game I'm playing.

It's only noisy in-game or on the menu page with the disc channel.

All my games run fine though... but I am getting concerned!

Completly normal. Even if you put any Wii disc in incorrectly your Wii would be very unlikely to be damaged. Some demanding games like SSBB and Metroid Prime 3 would make loads of noises since it pushes the Wii power to the limit.
