Default Metroid Prime 3 official thread

I can't tear myself away from this game...it's absolutely amazing.

I must go back to it before I decide to sleep...but if anyone is willing to trade friend tokens, post a confirmation and a Wii number, if it isn't already in your signature.

Obviously, leave thoughts and comments for the game itself

I love the game! I can't bring myself to sit down and play it all the way through though, I want to savor every minute, then play it through again on Veteran.

Almost intentionally forgot dinner because of the game, but I needed a break, anyways.

The games plays very nicely. Looks great, too, especially now that it supports widescreen. =) MP3 sure is a bit easier than the sequels. I'm playing in veteran mode and it really feels like normal. *shrugs* The controls took a bit getting used to, but now that I have a hang of things they are so much better than before. The advanced setting seemed a little oversensitive at first, until I figured out that I still could steady my view via the lock-on button. I'm running around scanning everything and anything, as usual.

Sure, it all seems rather familiar, but I wouldn't have wanted a radical change, anyways. The addition of voice acting is rather nice, though. It's a very fun game, so far.

I'll probably post my friend code sometime later. I only have 2 friend vouchers.

Don't forget about this from IGN's review... "You can choose to play the game in normal or veteran difficulty, and when you complete the quest you will unlock the gameplay-extending ultra-hard hyper difficulty, which considerably ramps up the challenge". I'll be going through this once I beat it on Veteran. It's probably how the game SHOULD be played.

By the way, the ball jump isn't nearly as finnicky as some reviewers claim it is. Haven't had any problems with it.

Nope, not at all. Just takes a little finesse. If you do it once you just have to wait a half a second before you do it again and it works everytime. Okay enough internet back to the game!

Here's something interesting I found out by playing around in the cockpit. You know the callsign you enter right at the beginning of the game? Well, I was sitting on Byrru/Bryu (whatever it's called) and I decided to enter it again just to see if anything would happen. Some japanese guy started to say a few lines. Now I wonder what he's saying and who he is. Apart from konichiwa and Nintendo I wasn't able to catch anything at all. Strange easter egg.

He was probably saying like, "Thank you for playing Nintendo Wii."

I picked it up yesterday but didn't get a chance to play it yet. I did fire it up this morning before I left for work but I only had time for the update, title screen, and options. The title screen music pumps me up! In the options screen I switched the jump and fire buttons. Has anyone else done this?

that's probably a good idea, I found scanning to be a pain, I wish it was just - to get into scan mode and again to get out not the point and click thing.
