Default Metal Slug Anthology - Thoughts and Opinions?

This game looks fun, but the popular reviews from gamespot, ign, etc. are giving this game an average of 7.5 out of 10.

For people who played this compilation, what are your thoughts? Is it worth getting? Is it fun?

Lastly, there are 7 Metal Slug games in there. Are they different enough to bring about its own unique enjoyment or do they all kinda feel like your playing the same game?

Thoughts and opinions, please!

Thanks.

I was thinking about picking this up, too. Anyone on the forums vouch for it? Anyone at all?

It does look pretty cool.

I have the game and yes its definatly worth buying especially if you have someone else who can play with you too.
Most of the low marks are from lack of extras and lack of good control options. The only decent one IMO is having the Wiimote on its side. But i havent tried the GC controls.
There are alot of similarities in the games but there are things that get added on to each which make it cool. The main 2 similarities are between Metal Slug X & Metal Slug 2. This is because X is a remake of 2 (I think). But if you have another person who can play with you then that is great since co-op is where the game shines. The game has a high difficulty level but the game offers several options for how many credits you get. The unlockables in the game arent that great. You get image galleries and music galleries and a small text interview with the creators. Plus they are kind of easy to get although some really make you work for it (Beat Metal Slug whatever with a certain number of credits).
They all play pretty close to there arcade counterparts but there are the odd differences here and there.
Id recommend it to you anyway since the games are great and its nice to have them in one big collection.
