Spoilers inside this one.. you might want to look away now. Tanooki have revealed what rewards lie beyond the 120th star in Super Mario Galaxy. Cast your mind back to Mario 64, gaining 120 stars was indeed a very self satisfying moment, but all you got from it was a bunch of lives from Yoshi, big wow. Super Mario Galaxy has done something better than that though, thank god, collecting all those stars actually unlocks something as reported by The Tanooki earlier this week. [p]When you finish the game, you’ll be able to play through what’s essentially Super Luigi Galaxy. The eternal understudy is finally back and playable in a Mario game! You play through the entirety of Super Mario Galaxy as Luigi, which might not seem like much, but it becomes a very different game. As usual, Luigi can jump higher and farther, and he runs faster but with less traction. The game is supposedly much harder with Luigi, so you’re not only getting a playable platformer starring Luigi, but you’re getting a “hard mode” at the same time![/quite] Shine Get! Wow, that's awesome! Luigi is finally in a 3D Mario platformer!
I guess all that stuff about 'L is real' came true...old school Mario 64 players know should what I'm talking about...

Ok so your luigi you run faster and jump higher. But when he stops he slides more. Well It doesn't seem to harder but maybe the bad guys are harder too. And to me this wasn't a spoiler my friend told me about this yesterday and I got mad at him and told him to never tell me anything like that ever again.

Well, I suppose it's better than a non playable Yoshi who goes on to be playable, but dies without fruit or upon contact with water, who then goes out without a rider to be able to do the works in DS. But I think I'd rather have the SMW approach. Koopa's with masks, Pokeys turning to stone, worlds changing colours etc...

This is good news, I've decided to bite the bullet and look at the spoilers for the game, I'm gonna find out sooner or later anyway. I'm glad I did though, and I'm more convinced now than ever that it's going to be amazing.
