Default Mario Kart Miis
Whilst playing online I've seen all manner of cool Mii sprites that clearly have not been made from the regular set of parts.

e.g

Kenny from South Park
Darth Vader
Kim Jong Il (?)
A grasshopper

Where do they come from? Are they automatically generated when a player doesn't want to show their 'real' miis?

I have seen them too and I believe they are made from the real mii parts. Have you been to the Check Mii Out Channel? It is a place for people to post crazy mii's they made. I have seen really crazy looking ones there that look like they weren't made from normal parts, but if you look closely they actually are. Did this help?

Indeed, some are really artistic with their Mii creations. I guess it's those that actually spent more time in the Mii Channel than it took to create your own Mii ^_^

They have been made from the regular set of Mii parts.

Really? I haven't seen the Darth Vader helmet as part of my mii parts set up.

Zoom in on them in the Check Mii Out channel and you will see that it sure is with the original parts. I think you use the black, long hair, a black skin tone and such to create the Darth Vader helmet. It's hard but possible.

Cool. I stand corrected. When I get the opportunity I'll have a mess around and see if I can create some fun things. I haven't got the check out mii channel (no space, natch) but if I get the chance to shuffle some things around I may investigate.
