Default Mario Kart 64

I have just download this, and was quite disappointed, is this the same game. It looks the same, but it play really slow, and seems to be easier than i remember. The CPU players dont throw any thing at you, and I recall when you used to be in first place on the N64 version you never got golden mushroom, lighting, and homing shells, You got a bannana if you were lucky.

He's not completely barmy, though. The item handicapping in MK64 is noticeably less finely tuned than that in later games. It's patently possible to get great items when you're way ahead, which together with the rubber-banding and the lack of unlockable content makes it pretty redundant as a single-player game, particularly in comparison to most of the other Mario Karts.

No unlockable characters at all, which is what always annoyed me the most about MK64.

I didn't know, since it's been about 15 years since I played the original, but apparently it didn't have any either.
