Default Main differences between Fatal Fury 2 and Fatal Fury Special?

I take it Fatal Fury Special is the Champion Edition for Fatal Fury right? The game looks the same to me, but I am not sure about the other differences, maybe an SNK enthusiast can help me out by telling me the major differences between the two, also which one do you prefer 2 or Special?

Certainly.

Off the top of my head, the main difference is the roster.

FF2: Terry, Andy, Joe, Kim, Mai, Jubei, Chang, Big Bear,

Bosses: Axel Hawk, Billy Kane, Lawrance Blood, Wolfgang Krauser

FFS: All of the above with playable bosses and additional characters...
Tung Fu Rue, Duck King and Geese Howard from Fatal Fury 1 and Ryo Sakazaki from Art of Fighting as a secret final boss or playable via the debug cheat.

Of course there is also some additional stages and slightly more polished gameplay.

Don't special have 3 planes; you can move in the foreground and background, or stay in the center? Also, was it special or part 3 that made plane jumping more like a sidestep. Also, I do know this one had background planes that were hazardous.

Call me stupid, but I notice every move Mai Shiranui does in the game it involves here showing off some of her body parts, I guess thats what you call fan service?

Other than looking good, she is a good character to use in the game, her moves are easy, and deal fair damage.
