Apparently coming out 29 September 2008 for NA, and 31 December 2008 for JP. I'm slightly baffled as to why NA's getting it first. Maybe because of Christmas?
Speaking of, given that it's a Kirby game getting released before a major holiday, I wonder if it'll even be around come January the next year.

People who live in multi-gamer households, like my husband and me, or any number of homes with 2+ kids? Kids at school who want to show off their games to classmates during <strikeout>class</strikeout> lunch? Those who can't get wifi, don't know how to set up wifi, or won't set up wifi?

The vast majority of people I know have no way to even use local play. And I know a lot of people with a DS
It's just plain silly to not have Wifi modes in this day and age. |

I can agree with the Wifi--leaving it out seems kinda like leaving out the ability to pause or save your game.

Especially when most of the games require seperate copies of the game cartridge. Sure my brother could buy a DS, but then he would need to buy a copy of almost every game I have that has local play but no wifi. (Read: 90% of them)
Most of them arent even popular enough for mass play at schools (Pokemon is pretty much the only game people bring to schools to play multiplayer) |

I'll definitely be importing this as soon as it comes out in US.
The lack of an EU date and the mention of it coming out in Japan a few months after US has me thinking we won't be seeing it for a fair while...

Gee, so now Nintendo's following in square Enix's footsteps, and releasing remakes instead of releasing them on the Virtual Console. I have more faith in Ninty than than SE, since usually Nintendo actually gives its remakes actual content, and only once have I been jilted by a Ninty remake. The only problem is, it was a Kirby game. I had played what turned out to be a remake of Kirby Adventure.I din't know it at the time, and I don't think it was advertised as such, but I certainly got a sense of deja vu once I played the original, and now that I have the original, I don't even touch the remake, as it only had new graphics, and I found the retro graphics of the original to be more charming.
Sadly, from what I hear, this new remake seems to fall into the same trap, and won't offer anything new. Personally, I would've preferred to play the original, but since Ninty doesn't release remake too frequently, and certainly not one that's already been remade, playing the original seems out of the question. I suppose I'll get this one once the price has dropped significantly, since it is considered to be the best Kirby game, and I haven't played a good Kirby game since the original on the VC, and before that, Kirby 64, when it was actually released. Still, this probably means that Earthbound will get a remake, too. I suppose if it was Mother 1 being remade I'd be fine with it, but this just sucks! I suppose if it leads to the Release of Mother 1 and Mother 3, it's fine, but come on! What's the point of the VC if all the classics just get remade anyways?! Ya know, in my house, somebody has a good game, we simply share it, instead of going out and getting a whole separate cart. Me and my brother only have two games in common, and one simply came with his DS, and the other I stopped playing(Mario Kart DS, he stopped playing, Pokemon, I stopped playing) So I generally prefer it if a game has WiFi, or at least decent download-play( which most of Ninty's games sport), not to mention it adds to the overall value of the game(a VC port wouldn't have had online play). Actually, now that I think about it, Kirby Superstar was a collection of minigames, essentially, so now it's getting three new ones. New modes too! Now that is what I'm talking about! I'd take that over the original release any day! If Square Enix could take a page out of Ninty's book, I stop being so against them all the time. Last edited by Mickeymac; 14th July 2008 at 10:50 AM.
