Default Killer 7

I picked up a used copy on a whim yesterday. Frankly, I'm not sure what to think of it. So far, I find it quite odd and somewhat confusing. Maybe I just need to give it some more playtime.

I gave up on it very quickly, couldn't work out what to do and didn't have the time to figure it out. Apparently a lot of people give up like that and you've got to stick with it to get through the early stages and then it's fine, but back then I was busy with other things and I didn't have the pateince. Maybe I'll go back to it one day.

Killer 7... stick with it and you'll be rewarded with one of the.. (actually my best) experience the 'Cube had to offer.

Absolutely - it's a slow grower and quite offputting/confusing at first.
As the "story" progresses, it becomes more interesting (not that i
ever understood it) and it has some of the most memorable bosses
ever... ayame blackburn springs to mind...

Definitely one of the best releases for the Gamecube

I just found it increadably frustrating that nothing at all was explained. When I got to a point quite early on where I got stuck and there wasn't even the smallest hint of what to do or how to progress, that's when I gave up. How you could get past that I don't know, it's a shame because I'm sure it's a great game, and I'm sure there are so many people that bought it and gave up like I did.

Some hints for beginners.

1. If you enter a new room, SCAN it. Go into first person mode and press "L". So you can see the monsters.

2. If you kill monsters, shoot their arms, legs, head and then the yellow point in their bodies. That way you get the most experience points out of them!

3. Level up your characters as fast as possible. Collect blood near a save room, so you can buy more characters and max them out with not much trouble.

4. Don't use Garcian Smith! If he dies, the game is over. Only choose him, if you want to revive a dead character. That way, you have unlimited lives.

5. If there's a puzzle and you don't know what to do try different characters and use your items.

I have beaten this game, and unlocked Killer 8 in Nightmare mode. This game is crazy stuff.
Caution: Extremely violent. And kids would get nightmares.

Can't wait for it's semi-sequel No More Heroes on Wii.

Yeah, No More Heroes looks really interesting.

I don't think I could even work out how to collect blood, I think that was one of the troubles, but thanks for the tips I'll have to remember them when I do eventually try the game again.

Collecting blood was just aiming for the right parts!
If you're just shooting into the belly of a monster you won't get anything.
Like I said, go for the limbs and head! And then look for the little yellow sparkling in a monsters body. And you see you get really thick blood instead of the usual splatter. These are experience points you can turn into level-ups in a computer save room. If you level up your body strength and speed to the max in every chapter, you wouldn't think how easy this game can be later.

If you think you suck at this game, practice the aiming in the beginning!
Next to the first save room, kill the same two monsters again and again, and try to collect thick blood.
If you get killed, you start in the last computer room and have to select another character. Take Garcian to the dead body to revive it. (Don't let Garcian die, save your game if its too dangerous!)
Unlock all the other characters and max out all their skills.
Takes a bit of time, but not too much. If you can't turn blood into skill capsules anymore, you're done with this chapter. Move on and beat chapter 1 and repeat this strategy in chapter 2 to max out the characters even more.

If you do this , you can take many hits instead of being killed by one.
The better you aim, the faster and more blood you get, the stronger your characters get.

I ended up taking the game back. The style is great, but I'm certainly not in love with the gameplay. Thanks, but no thanks.
