Default Importing NTSC Wii.................

I have an Australian PAL Wii, however I was contemplating of importing a NTSC Wii for the purpose of having a bigger variety of games on VC and the mega major reason so it doesn't have that PAL 50hz problem that I keep hearing about.

Would importing a NTSC fix the PAL 50hz problem?, will it be compatible for Australia, Eg (Games, power plugs, wii plugs) if not what can I do to fix the compatability issues. Thanks everyone =) Or is there a way to "cheat" the Pal 50hz thing, like changing the region?

But PAL got the Mega Man series! And the best(but few) VC exclusives.
[x] You get 60Hz.
[x] Need a power converter if not Aus got same power system as US.
[x] And buy NTSC games/points cards(Visa fixes that i think).

So you don't recommend me getting a NTSC wii? Or will Nintendo fix the PAL 50hz problem eventually ^-^

I imported an NTSC Wii from VG+ on launch. As I mostly play VC games rather than regular Wii games this was a good choice for me. No 50Hz PAL issues or component cable problems on my HDTV.

I hear DVDBoxOffice is a good place to import from also.

You will need a PAL/Aussie power supply. This should be cheap from eBay for a third party PSU. You can always use your current PSU from your PAL Wii or buy a stepdown voltage convertor (75w/100w) which will allow you to use the NTSC PSU.

Regarding Wii points, you can easily buy them from ebay.com and sellers will be only too happy to email you the codes. Very cost effective. Or you can use a VISA card, just set your country to Brazil and you can buy no problems, thats what I do!

It is doubtful that Nintendo will ever give PAL gamers the full speed NTSC games or patch them to play faster. If this bothers you so much then importing may be your only option. I would imagine the component cable issues will all be resolved however in time.

If you find a Freeloader that does the job.

I understand the freeloader works for Gamecube games but you have to do a quick disc swop trick. PAL wii games wont play on a NTSC console unless it is modded however. Something to think about! I cant go down to my local shop and just buy a game, I have to order from the internet. Oh well, at least I got Super Paper Mario and Metroid corruption before my fellow Brits (and cheaper too!!)
