Default Hey I have a question about SSBB

I just completed Subspace Emissary and unlocked most of the characters. I've been saving the game on a file slot, but accidentally saved in into another file slot.

So now I have two slots for the same game. Of course, as I get more secrets unlocked, I only save it for the one slot leaving the other one alone.

My question is, can I delete the other saved file slot that I'm not using? I'm an organized neurotic and wish to keep everything in order.

I thought I can just go to the game data and erase each file individually, but when I click on that button, there is a pop up that says something like, "ARE YOU SURE?" which makes me very nervous.

Has anyone delete a file on SSBB Subspace Emissary? Were you able to delete one file at a time or does deleting it delete everything?

Thanks and please help.

Every game has the are you sure sign when deleting something, some even have a "are you sure", "yes" "But really are you sure about this?" "yes" "No really do you know what your doing" "yes" "ok then if your sure" "delete already!"

I doubt erasing one file will erase everything.

I was wondering if I keep pressing yes to that "Are you sure" question will lead me to a screen that will allow me to choose which file to delete.

I was worried that if I kept answering yes to it that it would delete "it", with "it" being everything. In other words, I thought the game wouldn't bring me to a screen that would allow me to choose files to delete. I thought it would just delete everything.

Thanks.

Hang on now!

The instruction manual says that delete option will "Erase all the Subspace Emissary save files."

So I think that's probably what it will do.

Thanks. So how do I delete just one file. I have two and I just want to get rid of one?

Is there a way?

It doesn't look like there is...

If you're planning on replaying SSE from the beginning sometime, you could simply hang onto the extra file and then save over it with your new game, so you only have one file per adventure... That's about the best advice I can give you.

It seems kind of strange that they wouldn't built in some rudimentary data management...

Thanks JtY,

I just spend the past hour trying different things. I thought I had it when I created a bogus profile and started playing SSE. When I reached the first save point, I saved it with the bogus profile, but overwriting the file I wanted to delete (it was saved under the same name as the file I wanted to keep).

Then I went to the erase that bogus profile thinking that it would also delete any information associated with that name (i.e. SSE). Well, the bogus profile was removed, but the saved file still remained in SSE data.

I guess playing Brawl and Solo aren't related in terms of data management. I just started a new adventure with my wife's profile and putting that information into the second slot, thus removing the bogus profile. So at least I have two profiles going together in SSE.

Can a patch fix this? It's obviously not the end of the world, but as you said, it is strange that something so simple can't be done on SSBB.

I guess what I'm also wondering then is, if I delete all info from SSE, will it remove all the new characters and stages and extras that were unlocked?

Since every element of the game seems so independent, I bet if you were to erase all of your SSE data, the rest of the stuff you get from SSE would still be available (Challenges, unlocked characters, new game modes, etc.). So if you really get in a pickle, just finish SSE 100% (thereby getting everything you can get out of the game) and then delete all Adventure Mode data.

I guess this is why there's 50 save files. It would have been much easier to put a delete button instead.
