Default Greatest Hits?

Well, recently at E3, Sony announced their newest series of Greatest Hits and this time they're on the PS3 (link). Microsoft previously announced their own, similar program not too long ago either for the Xbox 360(link). The Wii has yet to have their own Greatest Hits category like it's predecessor, the Gamecube (link). What's the big deal? Well, that little extra spice of coloring at the top of a game box isn't simply to say, "I'm popular!", it's to say that the game is $30 less than what it usually is or in the case of the GBA, it was $10(link). This not only gives a discounted price on million sellers such as Call of Duty or Animal Crossing but it also brings them back to production. I say the Wii is fully ready for such a program and should include hit titles such as:
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Mario Party 8 (after 9 comes out)
Wii Play (no Wiimote and only $10 or something like that)
Excite Truck
Wario Ware: Smooth Moves
Red Steel
Sonic & the Secret Rings
Carnival Games
Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree

And after these are out for a while, add these:
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
Mario Kart Wii (no Wii wheel)
Super Paper Mario
Mario Strikers Charged
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Anybody else think this is a good idea? Or maybe it should come to the DS first?

When I get games, I usually try to prioritize finding non-greatest hits versions, just because I like having the original editions. But a greatest hits system is a great way to market to casual gamers (lolz!), since the majority of people would rather have a cheap game than an original pressing. I imagine they're on the way.

Isn't there no difference between the two?

Greatest hits games have different packaging. And on some systems (PS2, for example) the picture side of the disc is different. Doesn't matter for most people. But I'm a collecty-perfectionist.

If I were Nintendo I would start with:

Excite Truck
Wario Ware: Smooth Moves
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Super Paper Mario

...and a special Greatest Hits version of Wii Play w/ gold or platinum Wiimote.

Yeah, I'd like to see Nintendo do something like this. I'm all up for cheaper games.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is probably the best game available on the Wii right now. Unfortunately, I can't imagine its sales warranting a Greatest Hits nomination, especially amid rumours that it's actually going out of print.

Ill just dig it up from the bargain bin then.
Or buy a scratched disc if it becomes rare?

I don't think Galaxy or brawl will ever drop in price. These are the two must own games for the wii and they will keep selling well at full price until the end of the wii's life cycle.
