Default Goose Master's VC Review~Featuring Super Mario Bros 2!

I've decided to start reviewing my newer downloads, PM is next.
NOTE: Please post and comment!

~Super Mario Bros 2~

~Game Overview~

The black sheep of the 8 and 16-bit Mario series, this game was not originally a Mario game. In Japan, they released the sequal to SMB, Super Mario Bros 2. This game was much harder, and deemed among other reasons, too hard for Stateside release. So they put Mario sprites in a game called Doki Doki Panic and released it in the US as Super Mario Bros 2. Later the US got Japan's SMB2 as The Lost Levels in Super Mario All Stars, and they got our SMB2 retitled, "Super Mario USA." The game involves Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Toadstool finding a cave which transports them to the world of Subcon, where the evil Wart has taken over. Mario and party take it among themselves to free Subcon.

~Gameplay~

Unlike the original Super Mario Bros, you can't kill enemies by jumping on them. Instead you have to throw Vegetables or other enemies at them. You can dig up Items and pick up enemies with the B button, and then toss them again with B. There are 7 worlds, each with three levels; with the exception of World 7, which only has two. At the end of most of the levels, you'll battle Birdo. Some levels have obstacle courses to get through. Your health is measured in hearts, which you can increase from the defualt two, to three and four through mushrooms. There are plenty of puzzles and tough situations, making the diffulculty level higher than that of SMB, and those annoying flying masks are enough to turn newbies away. But practice makes perfect, so don't be quick to diss this game!

~Graphics and Music~

The graphics are very good for the NES. They're very clean, but with rather dull colors. The graphics blend, making them great for their day. The music is pretty good too, though nothing outstanding. They're are a few tunes that you may find yourselves humming, but nothing absolutely fantastic.

~Fun Factor and Replay Value~

The fun factor is modest. Newbies may find this game frustrating; while people who have played this game before may love it. It's a solid game, but it takes some getting used to. After playing it for an hour or so, you may find the Fun Factor to increase a bit. It has above-par Replay Value, as you can try a Luigi/Mario/Toad/Peach only run. you can try to complete it without warping, or try to find all the secrets.

~Conclusion~

This game has a lot of mixed feelings for some gamers. Some love it, others hate it. if you've played and liked this game, then definately download it. If you're a newbie, it depends. if it looks like an interesting concept and you're craving something new, go for it. However, if it doesn't appeal to you, you should probably save those Wii points. Overall, this is a nice little gem that some may find fun, and others boring. it may also be overshadowed by such VC powerhouses like Paper Mario, Star Fox 64, or any Legend of Zelda.

Gameplay~7.5
Graphics~9.0
Music~8.0
Fun Factor~8.5 (This is my opinion. I really like this game)
Replay Value~8.5

Overall~8.3

Final Rating:

*1-up mushrooms are 1, reds are halves*

lol trust...PM doesnt need an introduction.

anyone who owns a wii already knows every game that mario has been in, and therefore needs no review

i suggest reviewing a less common game, such as a TG or Genesis game

we all know our Nintendo
