| Casual gamer since 1978 | Gaming since the 70's. Im' almost 33, of course you can't live without knowing the existence of Nintendo, but I realized what "Nintendo Difference" meant, just in 2003. It was "A link to the Past" followed by "Pokémon Sapphire" to let me literally fall in love for this company. Favourite games: SHOOTERS: Gyruss, Time Pilot, Einhander [EDIT: how could I forget the best shooter ever?] RPG: Pokémon, Mother ADVENTURES: classic LucasFILM ones Special mention for one of the best series ever: THIEF I play guitar, I'm quite a noisy musician and I love BAD music: Stravinsky's "Le Sacre du Printemps" is the best piece of music ever written, and Slayer's "Reign in Blood" is surely the record I listened to the most times.

| Hey, I'm James. I game, skate, use the internet, and am in my Junior year of High School. I joke around a lot, so ignore every single post I make (except this one or you wouldn't know to ignore them). I've been gaming ever since I can remember. It started with the NES, then moved onto SNES, Saturn, N64, PS1, GCN, PS2, Xbox, and Wii. So as you can tell, I'm a Nintendo loyalist. Although I have gotten rid of, lost, or sold all of those consoles other than Wii and N64... Oh, and I'm American. That's a bit unusual for this place...I've noticed. >_> |

| Hey, my name's Nima. I'm 25, originally Iranian, born and raised in Sweden, moved to England about 8 years ago and am currently living and working as a recently graduated doctor here. Come to think of it, with the exception of the pre-Advance Game Boys, I've had every Nintendo system since the NES, which I first bough as a wee youngster back in 1990. Currently playing the Wii, a Dreamcast and a DS (in order of preference) Nice to meet everyone! |

| Koopa Trooper | Hey, you can call me, well, Wiinis. I'm 15. I first found out about video games when I was, like, 5 and my brothers played games on the Super Nintendo. I played a few, mostly the less complex ones where you only have to hit a few buttons, like RPGs. My first moments playing all of the golden SNES RPGs until I was 9 or so ensured that it was my favorite genre. My family didn't get an N64 until a year before the Gamecube was released, and I played that faithfully too. I got a PS2 and a Gamecube last generation and was somewhat disappointed with the Gamecube but happy with the PS2. I bought a DS and a Wii though, because the PS3 looks like (and has been said to be) crap. Favorite Genre: RPG Favorite RPGs - Earthbound, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy VII, Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, Super Mario RPG, any Zelda game, Chrono Trigger Favorite Platformers - Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie, Donkey Kong Countries 1-3 and DK64, Super Mario World, any Kirby game Favorite Shooters - Soldier Blade, Contra, Super Metroid, Gunstar Heroes, Wolfenstein 3D, Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark Top 10 Video Games: 10. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 9. Final Fantasy VII 8. Super Mario RPG 7. Goldeneye 007 6. Donkey Kong Country 2 5. Super Metroid 4. Super Mario World 3. Kingdom Hearts II 2. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 1. Chrono Trigger So that should give you a pretty good idea of what video games I like

| Well I'm 31 and work in the City. Been a gamer since the early '80s. Started off with a Spectrum + before moving onto consoles: Sega Master System, SNES, Saturn, PS1, Dreamcast, X-Box and now Wii. SNES was probably the best fun I've ever had playing which is why I almost exploded with joy at the thought of the VC! Apart from that...ridiculous DVD collection (I've had to put some into storage because of space issues), Arsenal, New Jersey Devils, music (a bit of everything that a thirteen year old wouldn't buy). Favourite album of all time is Stephen Stills 'Manassas'. Favourite TV shows are Heroes, 24, West Wing, Deadwood, and I'm a SERIOUS animation freak. I've been married for nearly 4 years and have a 4 month old daughter.

| Goomba | Hi everybody. My name is Joe and I'm 32. I had an Atari 2600, Nintendo, and SNES growing up, sold them all but in my post-college years have bought them again at flea markets. They mainly sit in my closet now, sadly. In recent years I've got a PS1 (gave it to a nephew when I got a PS2), PS2, Xbox, and PSP. I play the PS2 and PSP with limited frequency. Getting a job sucks the life out of gaming time, for sure. But my philosophy on console gaming is if a particular console has a number of good games, it's worth investing in, as opposed to being a fanboy of a particular console. For example I'm not an Xboxphile but I do loves me some Halo and Ninja Gaiden. I just got my Wii five days ago, and it's the first nextgen console for me. Something about the Xbox 360 doesn't sit right with me. And I know I will eventually get a PS3 for GTA4 and God of War 3, but right now I am waiting for the price to drop... significantly. But I got a Wii because its new style of gaming is appealing, as is the nostalgia/convenience factor of VC, and of course the price. Just got Super Paper Mario and I will get to that, just as soon as I beat a few more opponents in Punchout! Here are some of my favorite games, though I can honestly name about 10 more that I would consider favorites. GTA San Andreas & Vice City God of War 1 & 2 Super Mario Bros. 1-3 Ninja Gaiden (both the NES and XBox variations) Tomb Raider (mainly the first few on PC, but TR Legend on PS2 isn't bad) Lego Star Wars II Castlevania 1-4 Tecmo Super Bowl Super Star Wars/ESB/Jedi for SNES Indiana Jones Trilogy on SNES When I am not gaming, I am going to movies, making pizza, and enjoying TV. Favorite TV includes Lost, Heroes, Daily Show/Colbert, and 24. My big hobby is collecting/webbing about Pez dispensers. Check out my homepage, and of particular interest to this forum, check out my interview with the Super Mario Pez dispenser. |

| Ridley, 30 years. VC was 1 reason for me to buy the Wii. Great Retro- and 2D-Gameplay-Fan. Fav Games: Mario-Series, Metroid (but only in 2D), Gunstar Heroes, Castlevania (DEFINETLY in 2D), Radiant Silvergun/Ikaruga, Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, R-Type, Gradius-Series, Contra and a few more. I also like RPG's and my Fav's (beside FE) are Final Fantasy 6,7,9, Skies of Arcadia, Grandia 2, Golden Sun....and of course the Paper Mario-Games. I am not very friendly with typical western games like GTA or 3D-Shooters. |

| Hey I'm Jack, currently studying computer technology at college. I've been gaming since the NES came out and have bought most consoles since then. I consider myself a hardcore gamer and recently began to collect a lot of games for the Mega drive, Nes, Snes, PS1 and Dreamcast. Although I own a PS2, Xbox and a Wii, I only really use the Wii and the older consoles. My favourite genres are RPG's, adventures, shmups and beat 'em ups but I try to play all sorts of games. The virtual console has really got me interested in trying out a lot of games I have missed, which got me looking into getting those old console as well. I'm sure I'll be on here often and love the VC Archive |

| I've been gaming since the late 80s. I'm a Nintendo fan who likes a variety of games and genres. Love action/advenutres, console rpgs, fighting games, and shmups. I'm currently playing my second run of Twilight Princess on the GCN which I feel is the greatest game of all time. Just recently got a Wii for a wedding gift. It's awesome. Looking forward to d/l-ing numerous VC titles I missed out on back in the day. |

| Hi all, I'm Chris. I'm 34, born in England, I live in the US. My first console was an Atari Video Computer System (a six switch 2600), and I still have one in working order. I've since owned a ColecoVision, NES, SMS, Sega Nomad, Nintendo 64, Playstations 1 & 2, a modded Xbox, Gamecube, and several Gameboys. I also had a VIC-20, Commodore 64, and numerous PCs from XT level onward. I've been an emulator enthusiast since the early days of MAME, and added one minor contribution to the project (a protection workaround for a Neo-Geo football game). The Virtual Console is something of a dream come true of mine, a legal emulation based system on a name brand console. I like survival horror and "sandbox" games, as far as newer genres go. |

| Sorry for bumping a week old thread up, but seeing as it's the only "Introduce yourself" thread here I had to. Anyway, on the internet I refer to myself as Spore, which is based off a game some of you might have heard of being developed by master game designer Will Wright. Anyway, I didn't join this forum to talk about Wii or anything. I don't even own one (can't find the darn things anywhere)! But it seems you guys have a great respect for classic games which is pretty rare what with all these new fangled consoles. So anyway, since my favorite era is about a decade and a half gone, and seeing as forums are popping up with the Wii's virtual console, I thought it would be nice to hang around here for awhile. :) |

| hi all, just a quick note to say hello; im a 26yr old, here in the uk, so im the ripe old age for retro gaming. im at home on the c64 and speccy, although i hold special place in my heart for all things SNES related. and N64 related. and DS related. in fact; i am a child of nintendo currently awaiting the much anticipated relase of super metroid on the VC, i'm bouncing off the walls here. wii sports only keeps you amused for so long, and despite my best intentions of buying super mario world on VC, its no super metroid, and it has no mother brain! heres hoping they release it before i get too impatient and install zsnes again anyone out there into their homebrew and can give me a few pointers on setting up a gamecube for running homebrew apps? |

| Lakitu | Hey peeps, Just thought I'd register up to this forum as I often visit the mainsite quite often from my Wii for the VC feedback and such ^_^ The names Dominic, I'm 19 and I've been a Ninty fan since the SNES era (back at the tender age of 5 :P) I'm currently a reasonablyhappy Wii owner who is waiting on a knifes edge for Metroid Prime 3 and Smash Bros ^o^ Once those two come it will make the wait on the 7th of December evening up Oxford Street seem truly worth it Any how, I've rambled on too much.. see you around

| Boo Diddly | Hey, an introduce-yourself topic! Well, I'm Pieter, 18, from the Netherlands and I registered myself at this forum because I too visited the main site quite often. My first Nintendo console was the SuperNES where I played my way through the Donkey Kong Country games (except for DKC3) and offcourse Mario. Got an N64 later with Mario 64, 007 and my all time favorite OoT. The GameCube was the first console I got at launch and now I got a Wii too since launch (actually, 2 days prior to the EU launch). Oh and I got a GBA, a GBA SP NES Edition, an NDS and a white NDSlite. Dang, I just love Nintendo :P Oh, and I download more VC games than my wallet can handle :P
