Default Happy Birthday VC forums!!! How did you find out about the forums?

Happy Birthday VC Forums!!!

I wanted to know about how you guys know about this site?
Heres my story...
I got my Wii on January 30th, 2007 and I was expecting to be able to download every single NES, SNES and N64 game immediately! Imagine my disappointment (but was also happy for some games) when I saw that there were only a couple games available for download. I looked through several internet sites and found out about VC Reviews while trying to find out VC release dates. I was a lurker on the site (mainly because I didnt have a keyboard for the wii)
Around the same time I got my new laptop, there was an announcement that a new Forum called VC Forums was being set up. I recalled lurking on Harry Potter sites for Information... I lurked throughout the summer when I was living in San Diego and when I moved back to NorCal I decided to sign up...

I just wanted to find a site where I could learn what games were coming out without having to check the Wii Shop every Monday. I found VCR, and read there for a while, posting comments/reviews on the games I had played. Eventually I joined the forum as well.

Well, I was already a registered user at vc-reviews, I don't remember how I did get there, most probably I liked it the most among the sites that google's search returned me about vc sites.

For the forums, I was there the day of the announcement so I got here faster as I could.

I found the VCR by trying to find VC launch lists and reviews for them other than IGN's. I found the place and knew It'd take off and I wanted to try and help that

The forums, I found out that we were getting one because I was asked to make it. Since I don't know how to do those things, Divine made the place (And a bloody good job he's done too ). Since it started I was a Mod and I've even donated cash to this place.

I love these sites, they're so helpful and I think the community is great.

Long live the VCR/F

Now let's have a party with some celebrate by Kool and the gang...

Before I got my Wii in March I was trying to see which VC games were currently out (didn't know much about the VC then) and a friend of mine recommended checking out VC-Reviews. I started visiting it every week to check out the releases, and the week Paper Mario was released I wanted to know some more about it, so I joined this forum and I've been loving it here ever since

There's a great, friendly community here run by competent and hard working moderators, not to mention our fantastic administrator, DivineOmega.

Great job keeping this place a joy to visit guys

I discovered VC-Reviews when it was still the Mean Machines Wii page.

I joined last Summer.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY VC FORUMS!

I got my wii in march. I brought home, bought some wii points, connected to the internet, to find out Banjo and Kazooie wasn't gonna be released. The I searched on google, VC release dates. I found this bogus site that I thought was true, it said Mario Party and everything was coming out soon. The site went away after a few days, and I was trying to find it, when I stumbled across, VCR. I stayed there for a bit, posting comments under the name of Mario/zelda_fan. And after a while I heard there was a VCF. And I was like "what's a forum?" So I looked at the forum had no clue what it was, but I signed up anyhow. I was gonna be Mario/zelda_fan, but I screwed up, and I had to be The Shoemaker, the guy you all know and love today.

So anyways happy birthday.

Gah, I realized I just posted my story and forgot to say anything congratulatory.

Happy birthday VCF! Congratulations on being the internet's best source for letting us know what VC games are coming out each week!

I found the site the same way Shoemaker found this site, I was a lurker on the forums for quite a long time (I didn't want to join because I thought everyone would think Im a n00b since I was only 10 back then) but then when I found out that Shoemaker was 12 I joined but didn't reveal my age, then after a while I got the courage to admit my young age (but that was by the time I had turned 11)

Happy Birthday VC Forums!

I was looking for an easy-to-read list of all VC games and for good reviews on them, until a friend of mine told me about VC Reviews in February 07. From that moment I came here pretty much every day, but the newly built boards didn't catch my interest in the beginning. ^^
But after a while I decided to check them out and, well, here I am. ^^

Oh, and congratulations, of course.

Yeah good times, my wiimotes would die every 30 seconds but still, good times. But it took you at least two months before you decided to join. I guess you joined about the same time you got wi-fi.

But really happy birthday to the VC-forums. It's been my number one site for games, news and whatever. Also The birthday updates were really nice. But have the people who made this forum forgot that it's the VCF's birthday? I was expecting VCR to make a news report on it.

Think I was linked here from some weird site that showed what you could do with you Wii in the internet channel, games and such, and they had a link to this site which I just read the news of (not a fan of comment posting for some reason) and when I found out that there would be a forum I simply thought "what a great way to use my email address for" and signed up. And this is where I've been since then, I play World of Warcraft too much to visit other forums

Still misses the Wii optimised page and the old layout of the forum was better for the internet channel. Doesn't matter now, the biggest congratulations ever for you VCR/VCF.

If I remember correctly; it was about one or two months since the American launch, and I wanted to find all the information I can about the Virtual Console. So the most I did was just bookmarked the website, and return whenever I wanted. Then someday I just got hooked into the website then joined the forums soon after. This is one the best communities I been a part of, and it's grand.

PS: The image, from the Wii browser, still shows the old Wii-built website front page.

I forgot to reply. Congratualtions on reaching a year.

I found VC reviews after searching for information on VC game releases and from there I found VC forums. Although I don't neccessarily play as much on VC as some people here (I'm more into collecting original hardware) I signed up because it looked like a good forum with a mix of discussion about modern and retro gaming. It hasn't disappointed.
