Default GC games on the Wii

I've heard that the Wii automaticly stretches Gamecube games to 16:9 on a widescreen TV. Is this true? I was thinking of selling my 2 Gamecube's but since I'll be buying a widescreen TV in the near future I'm not sure if I should.

Thx.

The same thing happens with the original Gamecube, you just set your widescreen TV to 4:3 if you don't like it and it'll appear normal (or set the game to 16:9 if it supports it). It's not a problem.

Don't sell your Gamecube if you use Freeloader because Freeloader doesn't work on Wii, but apart from that there's nothing to worry about.

Gamecube games are unable to utilise the extra power the Wii has .
The reason i never got rid of my Gamecube is because i got a game Boy Player so im keeping it & leaving its lid glued shut (Well mabe not quite that far )

I too will never get rid of my Gamecube for the exact same reason. I have an original Jet Gamecube with the Digital Out Port. That coupled with Official Gamecube Component Cables and Gameboy Player attachement means the console retains its validity on the system roster in my home entertainment setup. Not to mention that fact that I own somewhere in the ballpark of 80ish Gameboy Advance carts, and you see how the Gamecube would retain a value in my setup.

I have 1.

Anyway, as far as on-topic is concerned, I haven't tried any of my GCN games since I got the new TV. When I get some of my VC backlog cleared up I'm going to be moving on to Skies of Arcadia Legends, so I suppose that will be my chance.
