Post For trade: Dia's vidya gamez

WHAT I WANT: I have a large collection of GB/C games and I'm looking to make it larger; I have a soft spot for portable games that weren't released in North America; and I have an interest in games that play in Spanish. I also keep a wishlist on my backloggery (by no means all-inclusive). Nothing you have to spare fit the bill? Fortunately, I like other games, too. Feel free to link me up with a list of games you are willing to trade, and I'll tell you what's on your list that I'm interested in.

I'm not really looking for money, unless you are looking to grossly overpay for these games.

WHAT I HAVE: Mostly Nintendo handheld games from the original GB to the DS. Also some Game Gear games and 2 LCD handhelds, and 3 misc games (1 each of GC, N64, and PSX). I've noted the condition of each item according to the following standards:
  • EXCELLENT= New, like-new, sealed, or opened only for the purposes of ensuring everything is in place/testing language options. As a rule of thumb, only games for newer consoles get this marking
  • GOOD = Label is complete or with minimal wear on edges. No markings. Minimal or no discoloration.
  • FAIR = Needs maintenance; may have names marked on it in marker, sticker residue, and/or price stickers (not covering the label). Cart may show discoloration, but it is faint and evenly distributed. With the right tools, the cart can be restored to GOOD condition.
  • POOR = Shows irreparable damage. Label may be ripped, missing, written on, or covered with a price sticker. Cart may show discoloration that is excessive or unevenly distributed, and thus more noticeable than with FAIR games. Plastic may show unsightly dents or chips
  • BAD = Damaged in a way that will interfere with playing--for example, plastic may be broken along an edge, or the battery may be dead.
Game Boy and Game Boy Color games are all cart only. They are North American unless otherwise noted (many are Japanese, a few are Japanese exclusives).

GAME BOY ADVANCE:
Game Boy Advance games are all CIB. They are North American.

* KLONOA 2: DREAM CHAMP TOURNAMENT
............EXCELLENT; CIB and sealed (may not be original factory seal, I don't know enough to tell; from Amazon.com)
* PAC-MAN COLLECTION .......................... EXCELLENT; CIB and sealed (may not be original factory seal, I don't know enough to tell; from Toys R Us)
* PHIL OF THE FUTURE [x3] ..................... POOR. Boxed and complete, but the boxes are squished. I got a bunch of these real cheap, and I'll be taking them apart unless I can trade them to someone else who can use them for something. NA version.

NINTENDO DS: NDS games vary in completeness. They are all North American.

*
CHRONO TRIGGER .................................. EXCELLENT; New and sealed, CIB with Poster. NA version. Plays in French.
* POKEMON SOULSILVER .............................. GOOD; New but opened, Club Nintendo code used. Otherwise CIB (inner case, outer box, art, manual, pokemeter).
* PROFESSOR LAYTON AND THE CURIOUS VILLAGE ........ GOOD; Used and CIB but Club Nintendo code used.
* ERAGON .......................................... GOOD; Used, includes box. NA.
* LOST MAGIC ...................................... GOOD; Used, cart only. NA. Plays in English, French, German, Spanish (German only selectable if you have a DS or DS Lite or EU DSi/XL).

GAME GEAR: Game Gear games are all cart only. They were purchased in North America and assumed to be North American.

*
[GG] NBA ACTION STARRING DAVID ROBINSON .... GOOD; not much to say about this.
* [GG] NHL ALL STAR HOCKEY ................... FAIR;This would be GOOD condition, but the white part of the label has gone a little grey with dust.
* [GG] SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2: SONIC & TAILS ... FAIR; (a very few sticker remnants on this one's back).
* [
GG] WORLD SERIES BASEBALL '95 ............. POOR; Label is buckled, like it was put on by a kid, or maybe like it got wet. Looks legitimate otherwise.

Other: I haven't checked many of these games' conditions in some time, but if you are interested, I'll look them up and give you a more detailed description and/or scan images.

* [GC] NARUTO: GEKITOU NINJA TAISEN! 2 ......... Japanese version from Lik Sang (GameCube is not region-free); game, instruction manual, and case, but case doesn't have the accompanying slip-cover. Fine condition otherwise.
* [N64] POKEMON SNAP ........................... Has a little marker stain on the side which looks like it'll come off easily enough. Of greater concern is the back label, which has a strip torn from it. Cart only, NA version (N64 is not region-free). NOTE: I don't have access to an N64, so I cannot test this to see if it works!
* [PSX] FINAL FANTASY ANTHOLOGY ................ NA version, so it comes with FF5 and FF6. PS1 is not region-free. Complete with music CD. Discs play properly, but I haven't checked the condition of the manual or case in some time.
* [Tiger handheld LCD] MORTAL KOMBAT TRILOGY ... I believe the screen has a slight scratch on it, otherwise it's in fine condition. The sound is strong and the butons respond well. Click for a bigger image of the actual item:

* [handheld LCD] Frogger, 1998. Image forthcoming.

I'm interested in Lunar Dragon Song [Want to know if it is truly terrible as they say]. Also I'm on the fence with Puzzle Quest: Challenge of WarLords and Time Hollow, but I'll definitely get Lunar.

If you buy all 3 at $45, I'll pay for shipping and insurance.

Since it's just the game (no case), it'll cost about $1 to ship. $6 total.

If it's just Meteos, shipping will almost certainly be the same as last time ($3), so that'd be $11 total. I don't think an e-Card or two will bump the shipping costs up, so you could add $1 for each you're interested in.

How about $20 on the road for Meteos, CNS Bomberman, Balloon Fight, Dk3, Clu-Clu Land, Golf, and Pinball?

(8 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 3 = 21 - 1 discountz!)

Payable by PayPal, VC/WW, or a mix of both.

Can't argue with that! How would you like for me to pay you? I can do PayPal or VC/WW gifting or both. Like what Joyo said!

Believe me, I love Lunar Legend (only other Lunar game I've played) and this game just didn't have the same charm. The music is great at times but the game itself could've been better.

The only game I'd be interested in here is Sonic Chronicles. How good is that game then?

Enigmaopoeia:
I hate to admit this, but can't find Lunar Dragon Song. It's not where it should be (in its case) and I've checked all around the most likely places I would have misplaced it. After this post, I'm going to hunt around for it some more, but I don't have high hopes--I seriously have no idea where it would be, if not in the misplaces I've checked. Let me know if you're still interested in the other two games were I not to find Dragon Song. J/K I found it! If $45 PayPal works with you, send me your address with your payment or over PM and I'll ship out ASAP upon receipt. Will PM you my paypal handle.

Digiki:
I'd much prefer Paypal, but if you can't arrange that, I could accept a game as payment. Also, when I was pulling the game out, I remembered something about it you should know before buying it. This copy of the game freezes if you tap or physically jostle the cart while playing. Setting it down on its back is a no-no (exactly how I discovered the problem--setting it on the face is fine). I know, I should have mentioned earlier...but I totally forgot. This is a fairly significant drawback so let me know if you're still interested.

Jogurt:
Your games are assembled and ready to go. I'd prefer Paypal, if you will--$20 is good (I saw what you did there! ). I have your address so feel free to send payment at your convenience and I'll mail out your goodies.

Earl Wiggles:
Yeah, I think I can handle that. Though, shipping will almost certainly cost more than the games themselves. I'd guess $7 shipping, based off the USPS website & a random guess at weight. (So $10 total, given 3 games at $1 a piece and $7 shipping. As of 2009.05.07 23:56:38 UTC, 10 USD is 6.65794 GBP.)

Kanti:
Sure, no problem. :] I'll double-check and make sure it's all complete in the meantime--there's a hella lot of omake that comes with that game.

Trapster:
Sonic Chronicles is a bit of a mixed bag. Overall, it's pretty good. The plot and dialogue are pretty much what you'd expect from a Sonic game, and you get to guide Sonic's dialogue, which rarely affects the game but is frequently hilarious. NPCs also provide for entertainment, particularly with errands, and I really enjoyed exploring the Sonic-themed environments.

The main drawback to the game is found in the fighting system, which attempts to mix action elements into a turn-based system. What you get are "POW" moves, special attacks that are triggered (or countered) by an Elite Beat Agents style entry of rhythm-based commands. So you have your traditionally repetitive, boring, all-too frequent turn-based encounters...but instead of being able to button mash your way out with minimal concentration, you have to pay constant attention, else the battle takes too much time (since you are using basic attacks instead of POW attacks) and/or the enemy is beating the crap out of you because you aren't countering their POW moves. It gets frustrating and tiring very quickly. Might not be a problem if you game in short bursts, but no good if you game in long sessions.

The game does have a random chance of generating an item that makes POW attacks automatically succeed. I got this item, and the game became tons more fun. I even used my Gamefly account to rent a copy of the game so I could (legitimately) dupe copies of it. My save on the game is pretty sweet/broken (and very near the beginning of the game, as when you beat it, you get a new game+ of sorts).

Alright, my Wii number is 1556.4557.9564.6096 . I've still got you entered from the 2008 Secret Santa deal. I think I'd like the WiiWare title My Aquarium. I hope you don't mind paying 100 points less, but I've had my eye on the 'game' for some time, and I can definitely see myself playing around with it while sitting on the couch with my laptop (as I am now!)

Please PM me your mailing address and in the meantime I'll get your game ready to mail. :]

Games are in the mail for Enigmaopoeia (domestic media mail, white envelope), Jogurt (international Priority Mail, white box), and Earl Wiggles (international first class, orange bubble envelope). Please let me know when your games arrive!

[edit] Digiki's game is in the mail--sorry, meant to mail it Saturday!

Refa expresses interest in Final Fantasy Anthology. Refa wants to know what complete entails. Refa apologizes for the annoying question. Refa inquires on the music CD (info please). Refa out.

Refa may know and take comfort that by "complete", I mean that the two game CDs in Final Fantasy Anthology come not only with the standard box, box art, and instruction manual, but also with its "omake", a music CD. The music CD was included in the original release of the compilation and is titled "MUSIC FROM FFV AND FFVI VIDEO GAMES". There are 22 tracks, all in-game music in close imitation of its original beep-boopy glory. Tracks are as follow:
  1. FFV Opening Theme
  2. The Dungeon
  3. We're Pirates!
  4. City Theme
  5. Parting Sorrow
  6. Mambo de Chocobo
  7. Distant Homeland
  8. Music Box Memories
  9. To My Beloved Friend [last ff5 song]
  10. The Phantom Forest [first ff6 song]
  11. Phantom Train
  12. Wild West
  13. Kids Run Through The City
  14. Terra
  15. Slam Shuffle
  16. Spinach Rag
  17. Johnny C Bad
  18. Mog
  19. Dark World
  20. Epitaph
  21. The Magic House
  22. The Prelude
Games are NTSC. This is the NA compilation so the games are FF5 and FF6.

Lemmings and Looney Tunes: I'm interested, but I have GBC copies of both, so they aren't high priority.
SSSV and Konami Collection: Very interested.

I'm a little interested in this. Of the games you mentioned, I'd be willing to trade 1 of these:
  • Dr. Mario (VERY GOOD condition; flawless label, no fading or discoloration, no stickers/residue, no writing)
  • Super Mario Land (GOOD condition; initials in marker on back of cart in black marker)
  • Tetris (VERY GOOD condition)
  • Yoshi (VERY GOOD condition)
with 1 of these:
  • Alleyway (GOOD condition; initials in marker on back of cart in black marker)
  • Game & Watch Gallery (GOOD condition; "Carmen" on back of cart in black marker)
  • Heiankyo Alien (POOR condition; a little discoloration, 2 stickers [1 on back, 1 over label])
  • Revenge Of The Gator (OKAY condition; a little sticker residue, "BL" on back in black marker)
  • Tetris (FAIR condition; initials in marker on front and back, + "Carmen" on back)
in exchange. But only if Ouenben isn't interested in the games, as I'm definitely more interested in what he's offered.

Hm, I got nothing to trade, unfortunately. Would you be interested in a Nintendo Download trade?

Not that it matters, but I thought you hated turn based RPGs.

Mickeymac:
I'm not really interested in a download trade, at least for those games (which are going to be in demand). But if you have a hankering for some Tony Hawk or Yu-Gi-Oh, let me know, and we can arrange something. ;]

Refa
:
Ah! Now there's a game I'd like! What condition is it in?

Ouenben:

  • Cyraid (POOR; label is damaged, with some scuffing around edges, and some of the protective coating torn off [hard to explain], but the whole image can be seen; the cart is discolored, with a brown tinge that is more noticeable on the back; there is a relatively small sticker on the back that I know from personal experiences won't come off easily; works fine, though)
  • Final Fantasy Legend II (VERY GOOD; Sunsoft edition)
  • Q*Bert (VERY GOOD; there is a tiny strip of apparent discoloration on the back due to sticker residue, it will come off with some cleaning)
  • Revenge of the Gator (FAIR; a little sticker residue, "BL" on back in black marker, a little cart discoloration I didn't see last night while looking at it in lamplight)
  • Skate or Die: Bad 'N Rad (FAIR; significant sticker residue on back that will likely come off with [more] dedicated cleaning; with this effort put in, will be in very good condition)
  • Solitaire FunPak (POOR; label torn [cut through along the bottom, although nothing has been ripped off], grey smudgey fingerprints on label, something written on back in black marker but obscured by a sticker)
  • Dragon Warrior Monster (GOOD; "Nastasi" written on back in black marker [hard to see since this is a black cart])
  • Dragon Warrior III (GOOD; teeny tiny tear by the "D" on the label, looks like part of the design but you can feel the difference in texture with a fingernail; about 2mm x 1mm in size)
  • Toobin' (POOR; "AUDINO" written in black marker on LABEL [ugh] + front of cart, 2 stickers)
ALL are cart only, I'm afraid.

Description of Cyraid:
Quote:
Cyraid is a platformer with heavy puzzle elements. Each stage is presented on a single screen and each screen is filled with monsters, ladders, and various kinds of blocks. Each stage has about 6 blocks (give or take) that are labeled E.

By simultaneously pressing A and the D-pad, you can kick. Given the correct circumstances, you can use kicking to modify everything on the screen. You can destroy blocks, kill enemies, and kick around ladders. Your goal on each stage is to use your elite kicking skills to reach and open all of the E blocks and collect (or destroy) the capsules that drop out from them.

Every minute or so, a large, ball-shaped monster appears from some fixed spot on the wall (it changes each level). Any blocks you have destroyed have a chance of reappearing as it stomps about shaking the screen. This can be useful if you find that you have destroyed a block you need to reach a certain area. However, if you are standing on the same spot a block reappears in, you will die instantly.

Destroying blocks sometimes reveals extra lives and powerups. An x-shaped power-up stacks to give you useful abilities like speed and jumping. This allows you to take shortcuts on stages and finish them up more quickly, but you'll lose them if you die.

The final level of each world features a boss. Boss levels remind me of fighting Bowser in Super Mario Bros., in that you must dodge the attacks of the boss monster in order to reach a button that destroys the monster.
It's really challenging and I s it. I have a half-written FAQ for it on my hard drive somewhere.

The games of yours I'm interested in (in order of interest):
  • space station silicon valley
  • konami collection vol 3
  • Warioland 3 (Australian) (complete)
  • Scrabble GBC (cart only)
  • worms armageddon (boxed I think, GBC)
  • Looney Tunes
  • Lemmings
  • Jump super stars (boxed complete)
You may want to hold onto the boxed/complete games for a more dedicated collector, though. As much as I'd love Warioland 3, I'm not sure I'm willing to pay/trade premium for a complete/boxed copy.

Rydia, if you mean you're interested in the Yu-Gi-Oh and Tony Hawk games I have for sale, I'm sure we can work something out. Otherwise, no I have enough of those already. If there's anything you can think of off the top of your head, I can see if I have it and am willing to part with it (which I probably will be, seeing as how I'll be limited to portable games in a few days).
