The game reportedly sold 25% percent more than its closest rival, Dr Kawashima's Brain Training. Perhaps surprisingly, Microsoft's flagship Halo 3 came in sixth place with only half of FIFA 08's sales. Both FIFA 08 and Halo 3 were released in late September within days of each other. It should be noted that FIFA 08 was a multiplatform title available on six different consoles and the PC. Top ten list after the break. Exactly!
Read this article along with the one about No More Heroes and the picture is complete. It's like the day I bought Metroid Prime 3. There was a line of kids that wanted the new soccer game(was it Fifa or Pes, I really don't know) and really no one otyher than me asked for Metroid Prime 3. Big numbers = mediocrity. Always. |

PES is loads better than FIFA although I don't think the Xbox 360 version really does anything to improve at all on the PS2/Xbox games. It's gonna kick **** on Wii though.

I disagree with this. Super Mario Galaxy is going to sell a lot and I don't think it's mediocre. The soccer for you guys is the same as Madden for us in the US. I personally enjoy playing the Madden series but I only buy it every 3-4 years, but if people love football or soccer why wouldn't they love playing a video game regarding it and is it bad for those fans to buy those games? Do I think there needs to be a new Soccer/Football game every year? No, but there are those who think it's worth it for the updated rosters. |

Of course there are exceptions, have you ever heard me talking about Pokémon, Metroid, Zelda? I say "come on"!
Sometimes, for an unexplainable reason all people gather around something that has a real value. That's good, but I generally think that sometimes dumb masses choose to follow the right leaders (in these case: gamers with a very fine taste). And I perfectly know that PES is better than FIFA, and if FIFA was better I'd lie, because I hate EA. |

OK, I'll tell you something.
When someone is ****ed off (yes I know i twil be cesnsored), is generally driven to exaggerate a bit. So, probably my "always" probably meant "in most of the cases in life but I also think that there are some fields in particular those where art is involved when accidentally it may happen that something really valuable is followed by everyone without suffering the typical lack of interest reserved for that kind of elite stuff". "Always" is what I ideally meant. I know it's not always, but it's like everything goes the same way, exceptions do not give me the impression of balancing the problem. And about Mario Galaxy I can tell you for sure that it will be played in a mediocre way by the most users: finishing it once, with half the stars, typical of casual gamers, don't tell me that the most copies haven't been sold to casual gamers. The Wii, by now, is TEH console of the casual gamer. |
