Default Wii Sports Resort

Got this today and it's packed with content and unlockables.

I've unlocked and tried all the sports (Including the alternate modes like speed slice on swordplay and frisbee golf) and there's none I can really complain about. Canoeing is probably the least exciting sport by all means, where as swordplay, archery, table tennis and frisbee are my favourites

There's still a pretty big number of courses and medals (Achievements) and professional rankings to be unlocked so even if you don't have people round that often there's plenty to do in the game for just one person.
A fair few of the games will let you hot seat if you don't have multiple Wii motionplus such as Archery, basketball, wakeboarding, bowling etc.

Games that require a nunchuk are: Cylcing, archery, Power cruising

Golf and bowlings regular modes are near enough exactly the same as Wii sports with a couple new course on golf and multiplayer/enhanced versions of the spin control and 100 pin bonuses from wii sports.

As expected the wii motionplus is very accurate though if you find it's becoming a little shakey you can re-calibrate it any time by pausing and placing it face down on a flat surface.
And for those wondering it does come out of the jacket fairly easy enough if you don't want to use it.

It's a shame there's no wifi connection for this (Apart from being able to import Mii's from the Check Mii out channel) while I can understand online multiplayer may be too laggy to work for some sports, a friends leaderboard would be nice.

I guess we could always have VC-forums high score tables on here if someone wants to do one
I might do one in the next week if I've got the time.

You should update your wii list in the Master List thread! I'll add WSR since I know you have that now.

And yep, I've been really impressed with this game, too! It is packed full of content! 12 game types, each with 2-3 games, high score tables, and stamps to collect. Folks who compare this to a tech demo like Wii Play are totally off base. Most of the games are just as deep as the ones in Wii Sports.

Even the ones taken from Wii Sports have been revamped! You now have more clubs to choose from (for far more control over your shot) in golf, as well as a full range of Resort and Classic courses (classic = the courses from the original game), plus you can now play a full 18-hole round! Bowling is basically the same but with tighter spin control.

This game is very, very worth it if you like fun games.

Will do.

Yeah 100 pin bowling game looks great, a full 10 round game of bowling with 10x as many pins per round

This game is shooting up my list of addicting Wii games. Most of the ones I've played are games that I just want to keep playing! And there are so many of them! When I get tired of dueling in Swordplay, I just switch to the Quick Cut game. Then I try out some wakeboarding, some disc, archery... and then relax with a nice round of golf or some good old fashioned bowling. I can see myself having long marathon sessions with this, blasting through 10 different games or so in one sitting.

I can also see myself coming back over and over to try to rack up stamps, and not being able to, because some of them are crazy...

Some random easter eggs/secret options in Wii sports resort when you hold down the 2 button:

Quote:
Hold 2 while selecting Table Tennis from the main menu and you'll unlock a faster Table Tennis Match where you play to 11 instead of 6. You won't see this activated until the game starts.

Hide The Zoom-in Circle For Archery
When in the character selection screen hold down 2 until you see a warning sign. Then there will be no zoom in circle when shooting.

Swordplay - Play At Sunset
To play at sunset on the Swordplay game, when the character select screen appears hold 2 and the click OK to validate. When the warning screen appears, release 2 and you will be playing at sunset.

Basketball At Night
When in the menu for basketball, choose 3 on 3 and when you choosing your Mii, hold the "2" button and then you can play basketball at night!
The Archery one interests me as I think it'll be fun without the zoom

I had high hopes for this game to begin with, but it sounds like it's far better than I expected! Getting it as soon as I can!

Yeah, this game kicks ass. The funny thing is, I just keep playing the bowling and golf! They're so much improved over the original versions! If this game had just been a MotionPlus remake of the original Wii Sports, it would still be worth $50.

There is so much golf to be played now! And so many options for how to play it! Wanna play 3, 9, or 18 holes? New courses or classic ones? How about some frisbee golf?

My favourites are Table Tennis, Sword Fighting, Frisbee and Canoeing.

I also like Archery, Jetski and Bicycle Racing very much.

Of course Golf and Bowling are much better now, but we don't play them much in favour of the all-new games.

Aerosports is great for relaxing.

I couldn't get into Basketball and Wakeboarding but will spend more time with them later.

Not a big fan of this game, only a few of the games I think are good.

Sword and Frisbee are pretty cool, but I STILL think the Golf is Broken and Cannoeing is quite unresponsive IMO

Not saying its a bad game, just saying that I dont think it shows off the Wii motion Plus to is fullest.

I agree that it doesn't show off MotionPlus to its fullest. Even Swordplay still feels quite gesture-based a lot of the time. I think the games that best show off the MotionPlus are the Frisbee ones.

My personal faves in terms of play/fun are Swordplay (Duel & Showdown), Frisbee (Frisbee Golf), Archery, Table Tennis, Golf, and Bowling (all modes). My least favourite (so far) is Basketball.

I just received in the mail a $10 off coupon for Wii Sports Resort at Amazon.com. It costs $45.99 there, so I will be getting it for $35.99. I was wondering if this price was fair enough because the last coupon I got was for $5 off Punch-Out!! [Thus costs $41.99.], but I was able to get it cheaper at Wal-Mart for $39.82.

So is $35.99 a good deal for Wii Sports Resort?

That's 100% worth it. The Wii Motion Plus by itself normally costs 25.99$ plus tax I believe. Wii Sports Resort + Motion Plus for 35.99$ would be an absolute steal!

I wish they put boxing, baseball, & tennis in Wii Sports Resort. At least they put bowling in it but i would rather have a different sport then golf.

Golf is a natural choice, though, since MotionPlus makes a huge difference to how the game controls.

Damn, guys...played this with the wife for 4 and a half hours! This game kicks tail! Golf, like some of you have mentioned, is my least favorite, but overall like the entire package. I did have to restart my Wii and take my batteries out for one minute (per Nintendo's instructions) because my Motion Plus would not calibrate for sh*t, but other than that i was massively impressed...and to think, I was going to pass this up until I heard all the good things you all were saying about it. I knew I trusted you guys for a reason!

Today I had many rounds of Basketball which I really grown to love since I played some rounds in versus. My high score is 20.

Bike racing versus is also is very addictive.

I always use condoms. Having safe fun.

I don't think I've seen anyone except you name it a condom, on account of the fact theres a big hole on the top of the jacket, and on the sides so it'd make a pretty lousy condom...

I call the remote jackets condoms, too. But it's not because they could safely be used as condoms. Geez. It's just because it's a rubber sheath that you wrap around your 'mote for safety. Jokes are allowed creative licence.

Actually, I was more shocked at him saying his "first" condom came from a video game.

Great game. If it wasn't for the steller reviews and comments you guys gave it, I would have never bought it. WiiMotionPlus really makes it amazing, and when you play wish two people, it's a blast.
