Metal Slug is a surprise, but I'd rather get Metal Slug Anthology.

But Metal Slug Anthology does not feature Classic Controller nor GameCube D-Pad support.

So Metal Slug on the VC is more playable.

That is true, and the only reason I haven't bought it. I was thinking of getting the PS2 version but it's generally more expensive and difficult to find.

Cool, I hope they bring Metal Slug Stateside on Monday. It will be a fine substitute for EarthBound.

Metal Slug Anthology is very playable with the GameCube's analogue controller, even if it never uses true analogue controls.

I didn't think those would work before playing it, but they really do.
