Default Anyone Ski? Downhill, cross-country, water

I cross-country ski on my school team but the first time I skiied in my life was about 3 weeks ago, so my technique could use some work, I'm in quite good shape though from cross-country running so I can focus n technique mainly. I have a race on Tuesday , hopefully it goes well, and that the weather isn't too cold so I can race in shorts .

So anyways anyone else ski?

I'm a shameful disgrace as a Canadian because I'm a terrible skier. I've tried, and it's pretty enjoyable in theory, but I just can't get good enough at it to be confident on the big hills.

I live in the desert, so you'd think that I've never been skiing...and you'd be right! Surprisingly though, there are alot of pretty good ski spots pretty close to where I live though, so honestly I have no excuse...

I don't remember doing any skiing in my life, but I always wanted to water-ski. I'd try snow-skiing too, but I'm afraid of dying.

I had my ski race to today didn't do too great . 35:40 for 7.7km, I can outrun that easily. But it was up and down hills the whole way and at the start there was this kid who kept falling going uphill, so it was step, step, stop for a while. But it was only my first race and I haven't even been skiing for a month so it's all good I'll get a lot better over time.

Right on Sektor! Sadly I've only had a chance to hit the slopes once this year so far. It's been a wacky winter.

I broke a pole Friday

It's a great thing because today I skiied 15km without poles, the farthest I've ever gone in a single session, and I feel absolutely fantastic, nothing feels better than hardwork and determination

Can't say that I have.

I guess I'll have to put that on my to-do list.

Wow...I thought I was the only skiboarder left! I bought mine about 7 years ago and it was kind of popular. Now I'll go and I'm lucky if I see one more person besides myself with a pair. It was really bad when I went to Vermont a couple of years ago. People were looking at me weird and I saw no one else the entire weekend that was skiboarding. I like it mainly because it was really easy to pick-up and improve on. I can ski most slopes with my skiboards. Every once and a while I will jump in the park and look out of place (my age, everyone else is 15 or younger and on a snowboard) but I can't say I'm good at jumps or rails (I'm not too bad at the rails).

I tried snowboarding once but my night was cut short when a friend I was with broke her wrist. She actually didn't want to stop....we had to talk her into going to the doctors. Even then, she didn't go until the next day.
I want to give it a try again.

I have also water skied before but I have to admit that I tend to have great begineers luck.

I also do a little surfing in the summer @ the Outer Banks of NC.

The next thing I want to try is kitesurfing. If you don't know what this is, check it out. I once saw a guy in the Outer Banks kitesurfing a day before a Hurricane was ready to slam the area. He was awesome!

i have mainly been skiing my whole life but recently got into trying snowboarding and have been loving it. Does anyone have suggestions on some good places to try and go. You guys that are into snowboarding should check out what Mountain Dew and the marketing company I am with put together here: http://tinyurl.com/btrcgl. You can win some cool gear if you check it out.
