Looks like the players over where you used to play suck. ^^

I voted for Soccer as it's by far my favorite sports (well, I'm German, so it probably has to to some degree ). But i also used to play Tennis for quite some years and throroughly enjoyed it, though I've moved on to Squash as my second favorite sports.

Really, why do they suck? I've seen many pro and national teams reset the ball by passing back and forth amongst the defenders. Why force the ball when you don't have to. Soccer is about possession. If anything, I would say that hansolo's team mates did not know how to provide help in that situation (no offence hansolo).

I've never seen games between good team only consisting of the ball being kicked afar all the time as hansolo depicted it. You'd only do it either in desperation of if you've got some player waiting to rush out for the counterattack.
You'd usually keep the ball flat on the ground instead of just kicking the crap out of it.

Okay, maybe we're not clear on this. We are talking about crossing fields side-to-side not just kicking the ball as hard as you can down field only to have the other team kick it right back. If this is the case then I agree and it was a misunderstanding on my part, but I thought he meant that he was on offense and he was pressuring the defense and the defense would just cross field side-to-side away from him.....I probably read too far into it like I always do.

"Kick and run" is not good soccer but not all North American players play this way.

Oh, now I get it. Yeah, maybe you're right. I didn't think of him meaning it the way you've understood it. ^^

And I didn't mean to talk badly about NA soccer.

Well how should I know I don't even like sports.

Soccer is that game where you kick the ball into the net also known as Football in other countries.

Tennis is that old mario game.

If you wikipeia'ed that you would not have been confused kids
lol this thread got a lot of posts since I left and I'm sorry if I gave anyone a headache

I chose tennis.
Mainly because I had a bad incident with soccer.

So I'm playing, dude kicks the ball so high and hard that it hits me in the chest until I can't breathe and I go to nurse. What happens? The kid doesn't get in trouble, because it's 'Part of the Game'

At least in tennis they try and throw the ball AWAY from you so no chance of you getting hit on purpose XD

I have seen players get hit with tennis balls already, and guess what.....it's part of the game.

Aiming at the opponent is a legitimate tactic in tennis.

In soccer you aren't supposed to purposely aim at someone.

I'd choose tennis. It just has more action and entertainment, while soccer is too slow paced (not many shots, goals, etc.)... pretty boring.

I have seen some really skilled players purposely pass a ball off of an opponent's back to a team member. I have also seen throw-ins done this way as well......oh, and set pieces, I've seen good players bank shots off of other players.

Can I suggest indoor soccer to you. It's a faster more action packed version of the outdoor version. I still prefer the outdoor version though.

True, I guess I should have said shoot, since I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to shoot at people, (except for the goalie, from a decent distance)

It is a shame that FC Twente was knocked out before the group phase. They weren't that less better than Sporting Lisbon.

This poll is just like saying do you like team sports or individual sports better? I mean soccer is the international choice for team sports and tennis is right up for the top individual sport. One would think that it is unjust to compare the two...
