Speaking of which...

Plan 9 From Outer Space- Both a 0/10 and 10/10 at the same time.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - 7/10

If you like the other Indiana Jones movies then go see this. If you've never been a fan then skip this one.

It's not going to win any awards. It is what it is....an action adventure movie. It's a lot of fun and the characters are all really cool. I thought the story had a few holes and some action scenes were not very realistic.

Yeah I read in the paper that the story wasn't as great as the others. I'm still gonna watch it though.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - 5.5/10

My God, what have you done to Indy. Where do I start? The awful CGI throughout the film, the (SPOILERS) aliens, Shia LeBeouf's awful acting, Indy hiding in a fridge to escape a nuclear blast, Indy and Marion's Disney-movie-like wedding... (END SPOILERS)

I'm a huge fan of the originals and this was the biggest letdown ever.

Indiana Jones 4 - 7/10

Like previous users have said, it is what it is. No one was ever expecting it to be any better than the previous installments, and it isn't. It's cheesy fun, and that's what we like. No classic but worth seeing for the cool effects.

Akira 8/10

A good movie, although I saw the English dub instead of a Subtitled version. I prefer subtitles most of the time, but the dubbing was quite good in this case. It's quite a complex movie, the ending is good, and quite spectacular. I recommend it.

You used the word quite three times in rapid succession there. Anyway, I heard that movie was quite good. It looks like quite an action-packed film with quite a good story. I think I'll have to see it.

Exactly, I'm not going to hyperbolise Akira. It's not something I would break out the thesaurus to describe it because I believe the term 'quite' pretty much sums up any opinion I have about the movie. The dubbing was more than good, but not excellent, the plot had certain complexities, but wasn't really rocket science to understand and the ending was spectacular, but even though it was spectacular, it didn't really tie up all the loose ends. You should see it though, and have your own opinion of it.

I just finished watching "We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story" On Cartoon Network. It used to be one of my favorite movies as a kid... It's weird to see stuff that you used to like on TV on modern TV. Weird.

Iron Man

+ good, exciting action
+ some quality laughs
+ Downey's acting as Stark is excellent

- disjointed plot
- falls back on too many cliches (shoehorned romance, ect.)
- some bad, cheap jokes as well

7.5/10

INDY 4 - impossible to score. Either 2 / 10 or 8 / 10. Or maybe 3 / 10 or 7 / 10...I just can't decide

I can't for the life of me make my mind up whether I enjoyed this or not. A hokey, cliched plot is forgiven for the fact that it gets Indy moving into the action farely quickly but I can't forgive Tarzan...you'll know what I mean when you see it. There is a lot to enjoy here. Great performances from the cast despite some pretty poor dialogue (tendency was to provide supporting characatures rather than supporting characters), a great Indy-at-his-best chase / fight in the jungles of the Amazon and one amazing Nuke-proof fridge which is soft enough not to break any bones when thrown a mile and a half through the air. Genius.

Got to get me 3 of those fridges...one for me, one for the wife and a tiny one for my daughter....

I concur completely with your reviw of Indy 4. I just can't decide if it's a good movie. Yes, things were done well but then things were done so abysmally it's hard to see where (or if) the pros outweigh the cons.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall. 8/10. Yet another solid comedy from Apatow and crew. Mila Kunis is surprisingly charming for those of us who know her mainly as Jackie from That 70's Show and the voice of Meg Griffin. Bill Hader is awesome, as usual.

I Am Legend. 5/10. My basic take on this is that it was the first 2 acts of a really good movie. Will Smith wasn't annoying at all, and the sense of desolation and loneliness was palpable. The CGI monsters weren't fully cooked but they were okay. The big problem is that the movie ends just as things seem to be getting going. There's no third act. I almost want to give it a 6; what's there is worth watching, but it doesn't work as a story.

The Guns of Navarone. 8/10. Terrific, classic World War II adventure film released in 1961, starring Gregory Peck leading a team of Allied agents on a mission to infiltrate a German base on an island in the Aegean sea and destroy a pair of radar-guided long-range guns. If you like these old big-ass war epics, like Bridge on the River Kwai and The Great Escape, you'll like this too.

Juno - 7/10

It was good, some funny parts, though I actually enjoyed reading this more than watching the movie.

The Incredible Hulk - 8/10

A lot better than I was expecting, given how mediocre I thought the previous 'Hulk' movie was. Typical comic book film adaption and thin storyline, but it was quite enjoyable all the same, and I thought that many of the effects were very impressive.

I think everything was great. The action, the acting, the directing (hard for me to say when I'm not a fan of Spielbergs movies past Last Crusade) and even the choice of material. Its hard for them to come up with an idea of what to use alongside the Lost Ark, Sankara Stones or Holy Grail. What's next besides another Holy Relic and looking like they're on a theme...or doing something completely different.

I just think the main problems was again...Lucas was writing the script. And he's gone a little loopy since back in the day. Or more like, now everyone connected to him just does whatever he says and so, if he says Indiana is going to ......relive every 50s stereotype in the period of a month, then he's going to do it (for those who have seen the movie, you know what I also mean). I don't think Spielberg being connected to it and his attraction to those types of things in movies helped. I mean, he's made like 3-4 movies that are considered some of the most famous ever in the field that tie very closely to the main material for this one...

Still, if you just go to watch the movie for Indy (which I still think Harrison did great, even pushing himself to be more of a tough guy in a few cases) and some of the other characters (Shia LaBeouf was actually good...I was shocked), then its a good movie.

Resident Evil 4D Executer - 8/10

Not so much a 'movie' as it is an interactive theme park ride. Only availible in Japanese Themese parks, However, a subtitled version is availible on Youtube. The whole thing lasts 19 minutes in all and was produced around 2000. 'Interactive' as in 'the chair rumbles/reacts to the movie', this is obviously lost in the Youtube version I watched, but it was still entertaining, and watching a CGI Resident Evil short film has really gotten me psyched for Resident Evil Degeneration! I recommend this, its on youtube somewhere, so if you don't live near a Japanese Theme Park (and who doesn't these days?), I suggest you Youtube it.

Semi-Pro 6/10

I was a little let down after watching this movie. I was really thinking it would be as good as Talladega Nights. Will F. wasn't bad, he was actually really funny at parts but the storry wasn't as developed as TN.

Entertaining, but pretty forgetable.
SPOILER
Also, if this 'The Happening effect' ever does happen, Ireland is doomed.

Fright Night

I am a huge vampire fanatic but this is the first time i seen this movie. It is about a guy discovers that a vampire is living next door to him and there is a bunch of killings happening around town.

It would deserve 5 stars if it wasnt for the crappy effects when the vampire turned into a bat. Turning into vampires and morphing into a wolf had an awesome effect, but the bat looked like it was a flying bit of plastic.

First of all, I will not have any Street Fighter the movie hate in this thread! That movie is the pinnacle of so-bad-it's good quality :P

Secondly:

Edward Scissorhands

Absolutely fantastic, now one of my favourite films. Tim Burton It seems to be pretty underrated these days, I can't reccomend it enough if you haven't seen it. And if you have, well watch it again!

Pretty much what you expect in a Superhero movie. That isn't much of a bad thing either.
