Nineteen Eighty-Four (John Hurt) - 8.5/10 - Having read the book, I found this to be a pretty solid adaptation. The Ministry of Love was as effective on film as in the novel. That said, it's impossible to cram all of 1984 into a reasonably short movie. Damn shame, but this still turned out well.

Is this the 1984 with the Annie Lennox/Eurythmics soundtrack?

"Tron Legacy""9/10"
Neat movie with good special effects & an awesome soundtrack that would certainly fit in with a videogame.

Ghost in the Shell 1995 (2.0 version with updated visuals)

One of the better anime movies I've seen, I really loved most of the concepts in the movie. The characters and soundtrack were excellent.

However its execution wasn't as good as the movie was conceptually and visually.
Felt it was a bit on the short side though, when it ended I was like "Huh, it's over already? Where's the third act?"

8.2/10

Ninja Assassin (6.1/10) — It was fine. Most of the effects were pretty cheesy, and I didn't care about any of the characters, but it had some neat ninja scenes.

The Warrior's Way (6.2/10) — It was fine. The overly stylistic nature of the film was kind of cheesy, and I didn't really care about any of the characters, but it had some neat ninja scenes, and some of the jokes / over-the-top presentations worked OK in a way.

Blues Brothers - (9.0/10) - Prior to watching this, I'd never seen the SNL skits, so I didn't really know what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised. This was a hilarious movie that I can safely recommend to anyone. I will surely watch it again someday.

Tower Heist 8.5/10

I went into the movie thinking ehh Eddy Murphy he hasn't made any funny movies since shrek. But to my surprise the movie was quite enjoyable though it wasn't hilarious the whole way through I never got bored of the movie, never wondered when it would finish. On a side not Ben stiller is the main actor not Eddy and also I personally wouldn't list Eddy as a main character he wasn't in it much.

Overall a movie i enjoyed and kept me excited the whole way through.

Time to revive this thread and help repopulate the forum:

Alpha and Omega (5/10):
It somewhat saddens me to see that this concept about two wolves preventing a war and rearranging the social order is not as good as it might have been. The plot isn't really that fresh (Antz anyone?) and about half of the gags are just plain annoying (to it's credit though, the other half is pretty funny). The CGI-animation was done by an Indian Studio who did an acceptable job, but some of the backgounds and a couple of movements could have used more work. The concept drawings shown during the credits really made me wish that the movie would have been classic 2D animation instead, since they really looked awesome. Overall the movie just ain't that good, but not bad either. It has it's moments and as an adult: Have fun spotting the countless sexual analogies in there.

Pet Sematary
(4/10):
A family containing two kids, a cat and two adults (each of those two leading in the race for the "worst parent alive" trophy) move into a house right beside roadkill avenue. When the cat dies the father buries it on an indian graveyard, leading to the creation of zombie kitty. Not learning his lesson, he retries it again after his son gets steamrolled.
Maybe I'm heartless, but those parents are just plain terrible and I fail to develop any sort of empathy for them. For me the movie seemed predictable and honestly not scary at all.

Contagion
I really liked the director's past work, and I'm a fan of many actors in this movie however it never really clicked with me. Matt Damon is a terrific actor, however in this movie he didn't seem to be putting much effort into it at all. A few other good actors gave poor performances in my opinion and the entire movie suffers from it. Along with a lackluster ending with many plot threads feeling just dropped, I feel this was an average film that could have been fantastic. The movie does pick up pace when the virus begins to take affect and does offer some interesting scenes of navigating a paranoia fueled Minnesota. Overall probably worth checking out if you are interested in the premise, but nothing spectacular.

Puncture
I generally dislike the actor in this film, Chris Evans, and ending up enjoying this film. Almost didn't pick this one up due to Chris Evans, but the premise interested me and I'm glad I did. I have a few issues with the "true story" and a particular event that occurs at the very end, but overlooking that it was a great rental.

Coming Soon: Chronicle Impressions!
I'll be seeing this one later today. Again I love the premise, but I'm probably going to hate it for being a found footage film. Although I surprisingly enjoyed Paranormal Activity 3 so we'll have to wait and see.

You could just watch Outbreak instead.
