| just reading the top posts here.. and there's something terribly wrong if such an all-time-classic like Pulp Fiction gets 9 points, and an utterly forgettable big pile of poo like Transformers gets a 10. |

| Hostel 2 -- 6/10 It improved in a lot of aspects over the original, and though one part of the latter portion was predictable, there were a couple twists I'll have to admit I didn't see coming. You don't expect to get fooled watching movies like Hostel =P. That said, the first was a 5/10 for me. This is something I'd have to say I enjoyed watching on some level, but I probably wouldn't watch it again. The first torture scene was very, very sick though. I liked how in the first one, they alluded to what was being done without really showing it. I don't think I needed to see that torture scene ._. |

| Saw Cloverfield last night. I was a bit reluctant to go but it was after work and one of my buds was offering to pay for my ticket. It was a pretty fun experience; I was glad to see it in theaters because I don't know if I would have gotten the same enjoyment alone at home. The only thing I really didn't like though was the beginning with all the hip college kids and their indie rock-ridden party; very boring. |

| I saw 'Dōbutsu no Mori' a few a days ago. For those who don't know, Dōbutsu no Mori is the Japanese name for Animal Crossing. It was a subtitled version that I watched, and it was quite an enjoyable viewing experience. It is quite mature for what some people might run off as 'a kiddie movie'. I recommend it to everyone who owns a copy of Wild World. Dōbutsu no Mori: 8/10

Blog Entries: 9 | Alien Vs Predator Requiem ... avoid like the plague Boy, oh, boy, was this movie awful! Some nice (and some rather disturbing) special effects, but that's about it. If you thought the first AvP was bad - which had its moments but was far from great - don't even bother with this mess of a film that is even more poorly contrived. I really can't call that acting; not that the abhorrently awful script helped the matter. Good thing, too, then that I only paid a buck-fifty to see this piece of junk.

| 302 (Blu Ray). I'd never seen it before, didn't think it was my thing. But found it reallllllly cheap on Blu Ray and took the plunge. It's a really good flick. Story scenes with the Spartans are great, but with the Sparta's... No so great. Action scenes are AMAZING! Especially in Blu Ray. My mate's seen it about 50 times so as soon as I got the BR, he was straight round. He now wants a BR player so he can see if in HD. Because he was thrilled by it (Just mentioning this because I can't say what the difference between 300 in non HD and HD as I've only ever seen it in HD). IMO it's a must buy for any HD owner and it's a must see on normal DVD if you don't. Biggest complaint is the name, it says it's about 300 Spartans, but it's actually 302.

| Banzai Bill | Nah, see, in the graphic novel that Frank Miller wrote and that 300 is based on, those two other guys totally bailed. Come on, they had dudes with friggin swords for hands and giant ogres and Xerxes was like 8 feet tall and they had mutant rhinocerouses and elephants. You're questioning the fact they left out two guys? At that point I think all caring about historical accuracy has gone out the window. |

Besides, tales like that were common back then. This... "He was so good with swords, it's as if his arms were bladed". Turns into... "They say he had swords strapped to his arms all the time". And finally... "And he had swords for arms".

| I'm pretty sure it was Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. It was pretty good, a "neato" story and great action. The Last Crusade was better, though. 8.3/10 |

| Banzai Bill | Uh, no. They ripped that entire thing from Frank Miller's 300 graphic novel. They said "Make us a storyboard," and Zack Snyder put the book on the desk and said "Done." Frank Miller on the other hand, drew from greek mythology. So his comic should have been called 302, thus the movie would be 302. If you want to complain that two guys are left out look at The 300 Spartans, they tried to be accurate. anyways, Hard Candy - 5/10 Juno - 4/10 Clerks - 4/10 Master of the World - 9.6/10 The Prestige - 6/10 Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - 8/10 The Usual Suspects - 8/10 Futurama: Bender's Big Score - 7/10 Last edited by theUndead_feature; 17th February 2008 at 04:21 AM. |

| Last Film I saw was John Rambo. Absolute utter tripe until the 20 minute action scene. Before that I watched 302 with DEMON.

| I watched 4 movies last Night, so I'll give a rundown on what I thought of them: Ong Bak: 9/10 Great movie: brilliant fighting sequences, fire, some type of plot. Everything a good fighting movie should have. Tony Jaa is the brilliant in it. Watch the movie. It's a foreign film, from Thailand, so it does have subtitles. The Host: 6/10 A solid Monster Movie, from South Korea. Not a lot of ambiguity in this one,the monster is never hidden, you see it several times in the movie. Also theres a bit of violence and horror mixed in. Subtitled. Fast Food Nation: 5/10 There doesn't seem to be any plot, rather than a few instances where several stories intertwined. It's about what Fast Food is doing to America, Based on the book of the same name. It would have been better as a documentary rather than a dramatization. Knocked Up: 7/10 A funny film, no doubt about it, but it is quite depressing. I found myself thinking throughout the film, that the female protagonist had no character what-so-ever, and apart from humour and likability, the male protagonist had no redeeming features. A good film filled with laughs, but nothing special, and it doesn't break the unfortunate Will Ferrel lock on today's comedies.

| American Psycho - 8/10. Really good film, this. I'm slightly worried that I found it so amusing, but I thought it was charming in a Coen Bros-esque black comedy sort of way...

Christopher Nolan took the book and said "I bet I can make a completely different movie LOLOLOL" and then he hired his best friend Christian Bale because he felt he owed him something after putting him through all that crap as Batman. Bale's acting, as always, is as stiff as a board. But that wasn't what really bothered me. I felt that he could have accurately portrayed the story without having three different timelines present. I kept up with it but it felt extremely unnecessary. The film went on for a half an hour without getting anywhere. The real twist? David Bowie outta left field. Who saw that coming?! ![]() All in all there are simply better movies out there, thus it gets a 6. A 6 in my book is "good", so while the film had flaws, I'd watch it again. | |
