| Do you like my helmet? | I would give Zoolander about an 8/10. It's probably Ben Stiller's best movie. Of course, comedy movies tend to get scores from me based on how much they make me and my friends laugh rather than based on narrative and stylistic merits, since they are, you know, comedies. So that's why Zoolander scores so well. Hilarious! |

| I also thoroughly enjoy Zoolander each time I see it (seen it about 4 times now). Ben Stiller is a great comedy actor and the movie makes me laugh, which is exactly what I want from a comedy. |

| Just back from seeing The Dark Knight. What can I say, it was just a fantastic blockbuster. I expected Ledger's performance to be good but he really was phenomenal as The Joker, and will be sorely missed. I found myself looking forward to his next scene in the movie, and his portrayal of The Joker had a perfect blend of hilarity and genuine insanity. As previous posters have mentioned, Batman is not just about the superhero; it's about all of the characters surrounding him and how they are involved in Batman's world. Oldman as Gordon was just as effective as the other important characters, as was Eckhart who gave a great, confident performance. Lots of great twists and turns that I certainly didn't expect too. The plot wasn't too complicated either with a surprising focus on the action. Anyway, amazing movie and I can't wait to see it again - 9.5/10 |

| I hope folks don't mind me copying a post I did on another forum :P Batman: The Dark Knight Easily the best film of 2008 for me so far, with brilliant acting (I don't think I need to say who the highlight is), a near faultless script and absolutely perfect pacing. I'm thrilled to see it's performing so well critically and commercially. I think I need to track down Begins now as I've not seen that (But was grateful that knowledge of that film wasn't required for this) Ledger's performance was brilliant and he easily stole the show, but Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent and Gary Oldman as James Gordon also deserve mention, Eckhart in particular as Dent could easily have been a character I'd hate had he been acted poorly. 9/10 The Number 23 My friends insisted this was a brilliant film unfairly dismissed by the critics. While I agree you can't always 100% trust the critics, they were right on this one. Uninteresting, hopelessly tedious and terribly acted (With many lines that made me laugh unintentionally due to poor delivery), and it seems to think it's far more clever than it actually is. There's some potential rattling about in there, but it's all bogged down by poor execution and terrible pacing that made it seem like a very long and dragged out film. I spent the last half an hour wishing the silly thing would end! Still I'm glad I gave it a chance as I was curious (Plus it was a friend's DVD so I didn't pay for it), but I wouldn't dare to think of recommending it. 3/10

| Monty Mole | The Dark Knight. 9.5/10 Just a great movie. Compared to a lot of the crap that has been coming out this movie stands above the rest. Very enjoyable to watch.

| I've just finished watching Ratatouille for the first time. I really can't believe it took me so long to see this, but I'm very happy that I got round to it eventually. Very, very enjoyable animated movie. Just what I expected from Pixar of course. What I did not expect was the intelligent screenplay and overall Ratatouille had a level of maturity that I have not yet experienced in a Pixar film to date, mostly due to the story which was exexcuted brilliantly. It was very funny in places yet was very charming throughout and even quite touching in the last 15 minutes. The animation itself was just fantastic and the movie looked simply stunning in Blu-Ray on my PlayStation 3. A fantastic movie - 9.5/10 |

| I think Pixar is moving into more adult oriented movies. I think Cars would be their last "for the chil'uns" movie. What with Ratatouille and the recent Wall-E with its rather dark and serious messages, I expect a lot deeper a movie watching experience when watching their next films. I mean, Pixar will never be rated R, adults only, no children kind of movies but they are really changing their formula a bit.

| To be fair Pixars have always had something for adults (Look at Mr Potato Head's implication when Slinky sticks up for Woody near the beginning of Toy Story), but thematically their films do seem to be going into somewhat mature material as you say. But remember Cars is getting a sequel (Probably due to the phenomenal success of the film and its merchandise) I have all the faith in Pixar (Even if I was a little let down by Wall-E, which I'm keen to rewatch), and I look forward to their future films!

| Mega mole | Theater: Hancock. I can see why many critics didn't like the film... But I'll admit I like campy films and the "twist" genuinely made me smile. 7/10 DVD/Cable: Next Friday. Not as good as the original, but quite funny on a hungover weekend afternoon. 7/10 (for being what it is, a sequel to a "stoner/weed" movie) |

| Yeah I thought the animation in Ratatouie was brilliant. But with the Dark Night, Christian Bale was by far the weakest character, even though hes the main one!! Still an awesome movie, thinking of paying to see it again at the cinemas. Someone gave get smart a 4/10, I'll go against that and give it an 8/10. I thought it was pretty good, didn't try and repeat all the old gags, the chief with the spike ... hilarious. The plane with the anti-suicide banner .... hilarious. The Rocks entrance.... hilarious Anyway, in australia we normally have to wait for movie releases... anyone seen pineapple express? Any good? |

| Do you like my helmet? | I saw WALL-E last week. I thought it was great. It was pretty short on drama (the conflict was solved almost as soon as the it was introduced), but the animation was excellent and the characterization was phenomenal given the limited dialogue and "facial" expressions used by the robotic characters. Mini-review will be on the blargh soon. |

| Cloverfield-4/10 An average monster movie (featuring very little monster...) with a nausea-inducing camera. The "monster movie" angle is overshadowed by the dumb-as-bricks main characters story, which is, frankly, a totally out of place love story that only serves to bog everyting down. There's nothing wrong with the monster per se- I didn't even mind the very Alien-esque "mini-creatures"- but it is featured so little it makes little difference. Shame, as the film had potential. Between this and Tristar's Godzilla, I think Americans should just abandon the monster movie genre altogether. Monty Python and the Holy Grail-9.5/10 One of the funniest films I've ever seen. There are simply too many great gags to list; every scene has a least one knockout joke in it, ranging from simplistic slapstick to some hilariously random and esoteric banter between the characters, puncuated with repeated meta-humor. Along, with Python's other material, really the source of a lot of modern comedy.

| Batman Begins Having really enjoyed the Dark Knight I've become interested in the franchise and thought this was the best place to start. I thought it was really engaging, entertaining and intelligent, but TDK has somewhat spoilt me. It's difficult to make out what's going on in the fight scenes for one (A complaint I've heard before and would agree with, though it wasn't a major flaw for me), but more than anything I was a bit let down at how underutilized the scarecrow was. It felt like he had really been set up as a strong character in some of his earlier scenes, but he practically disappears near the end! As I say TDK has spoilt me, after the Joker and Two Face being so well realized I was expecting similar things from the scarecrow. The 'other' bad guy is well acted but again isn't as well developed as TDK's villains. The climatic scene of the movie is very well shot, but at the same time the film's overall ending felt a bit anti-climatic and unsatisfactory for me. Again, something that TDK did better! Still I don't mean to come across as overly negative, it's a great film, just one which has been surpassed by its superior sequel. For anyone that's seen TDK but not Begins I'd still recommend tracking it down. 7.8/10 (I can't decide between 7.5 or 8/10) I got it in a double pack with Gotham Knight (The animated one) so I'll probably watch that soon

| Lemmy Koopa | The Dark Knight Probably the best movie I've ever seen. And one of the longest. I was surprised it was 3 hours long :0. It was just a thrilling movie, and the actor who played as the Joker did a noticeably great job. 9.9/10

| I definately have to agree with you here. It is such a shame what happened to Heath Ledger, the actor who played Joker. This was a real defining work for him and he didn't even get to see it released to the public.

| Cinema - The Dark Knight Excellent movie and although it was long it never got to the point where I was checking the time. The Joker was the proper mix of funny and terrifying and the story had similar themes to 'The Killing Joke' and the 'Dark Knight Returns' comics. DVD - El Topo Got this based on a recommendation from Suda51 in an interview he did about No More Heroes. Odd. Very odd. It might have helped if I watched the movie drunk rather than hungover. |

| Do you like my helmet? | Everyone here must find and watch Red Cliff. It's the most expensive Asian film ever made. It's based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms, specifically the battle after which Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire is named (Virtual Console connection!). Excellent film. |
