Sorry to duplicate Coire's post from below but having been underwhelmed by the majority of Wii releases, I am currently looking to invest in Gamecube games that I missed the first time round e.g. this week I bought Pikmin 1 & 2, Baten Kaitos and Paper Mario on eBay. What must-buy titles can you think of? I also own: Metal gear Wind Waker Eternal Darkness Soulcalibur Beyond Good & Evil SSX3 Tales of Symphonia Second Sight Splinter Cell (all) Metroid (all) RE (all) Prince of persia (all) Mario Sunshine Sonic Adv. 2 Tomb Raider There were a lot of games exchanged some time ago but I forget what they were. Is there anything else that springs to mind/ any glaring omissions you can think of? Thanks in advance, -m. // |

F-Zero and Timesplitters 2 (or 3 but I reccomend 2 highly). Timesplitters is the only FPS I can really bare that is on a console.

TimeSplitters 2
Super Smash Bros. Melee Ikaruga TimeSplitters are just a great FPS which is really fast paced. It contains a great level editor and reasonable AI. If you've played GoldenEye you'll know what to expect. SSBM, well simply, it's not the best selling GameCube game for nothing. Been playing this for nearly 400 hours and the fun never does if you have some friends around. Ikaruga - this requires some interest from you since if you don't like Shmups them this won't be anything for you. If you're a fan of the genre then you're in heaven. I personally save this as the best Shmup ever and also one of the best games ever. Beware though since this game is really hard.

If you ask me I'd suggest you don't buy too many games at once, otherwise you'll end up with more games than you have time to play like I did.
But my suggestions would be: Viewtiful Joe. Ikaruga. One of the best 2D shoot 'em ups there are. A lot of people go on about how hard it is, and it's not easy, but it's a game that rewards practice, so even if you're a beginner you can go far if you keep at it. F-Zero GX More Sonic: Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, Mega Collection (all depending on how much you liked Sonic Adventure 2) Super Monkey Ball. Sega's first game on a Nintendo console, it shouldn't be overlooked. Skies of Arcadia: Legends. Great RPG for when you've finished Baten Kaitos (which will take ages). There are others, but that should get you started. Last edited by SegaFan; 19th December 2007 at 05:47 PM. |

// Thanks for the suggestions so far: I've made a note of Timesplitters 2, Skies of Arcadia and Ikaruga (just watched some footage on youTube and it looks amazing. This is a genre I've seriously neglected... I think the last shoot-em-up I played was maybe 1942 on my C64!) Oh, and thanks for the advice SegaFan- possibly a bit late, though! I already have too many games, to be honest... but I'll probably buy these if I see them going for a song. -m. P.S. The games mentioned that were not noted (Viewtiful Joe etc.) haven't been overlooked- it's just that I've already owned them at some point or other. // Last edited by max herman; 19th December 2007 at 08:01 PM. 1942 and today's schmups are pretty different. Get back into the groove of things.

If I were you I'd seriously consider F-Zero GX. It's cheap (I think I saw it going for like 10 dollars used at one point) and arcade racing just doesn't get much better.

Can't believe no-one mentioned the Super Monkey Balls. Or Chibi-Robo. And Wave Race: Blue Storm is a total must-have. And though this seems to be a contentious choice (much to my continued bafflement) Mario Kart isn't on that list.
