I do, it's my favorite franchise, but I don't see the need of owning games if I have completed them 100%. I probably want to play them again in a few years and if that time comes I'll get them used for a low price.

I'm still waiting on any news from Gyakuten Saiban 5, btw. It has been more than 2 years that Capcom announced it and there's still no info. -_-

There's been some info, in a way. For example, the creator of Gyakuten Saiban (and the one responsible for every Gyakuten Saiban except Gyakuten Kenji) has said he feels the series is finished and he's more interested in Ghost Trick. However, due to many fans begging for him to make a 5th GS, he's now stuck between going with what he is ready to do, or going back and continuing GS.

Right now it seems like game #5 will come out at some point, but it's still up in the air for if it will be the original creator or the guy who did AAI.

AAI is pretty sweet, definitely better than JFA and AJ, and I prefer it to the original so far, although I've yet to do case 4 and 5, which are usually the best ones.

I'm actually more with the critics than the fans on that I feel AAI is quite possibly the weakest entry in the series. I'm lazy so here's what I said on a different forum:
" I fell in love with the Ace Attorney series a few years ago starting with the 1st game for DS and proceeded to breeze through the 1st three games. I eagerly awaited the release of Apollo Justice and then Ace Attorney Investigations. My favorite game in the series is either the 1st one (two terrific last cases and probably the best music) or the 3rd one (1st one to have one ongoing storyline, Godot and his music). My least favorite is probably AAI. I felt Gumshoe was a much better character in the main series and Edgeworth also went a bit back and forth in his character development. I also really missed the courtroom scenes because it just didn't feel the same doing cross-examinations in the middle of investigating.
I wouldn't say I didn't like AAI. I just felt it was the weakest of all the AA games. As a game on it's own, it's still great and all. But I felt it couldn't shake the fact that it's basically a spin-off. It didn't feel as important or interesting as the "main" games."

Hm..now I feel bad that I'm off topic. If anyone wants to continue discussing the AA series we should probably move to a different thread or profile message or whatever.

I like reading people's thoughts on games, it helps me decide what to buy or play next. But maybe it would make sense to start up a new thread to talk about this, so that people who are interested in talking about it would have an easier time finding the discussion.

That said...

+ Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth
+ Advance Wars: Dual Strike
+ BLEACH DS 蒼天に駆ける運命 (Bleach: The Blade of Fate)
+ Gunpey DS
+ Honeycomb Beat
+ River King: Mystic Valley
+ Rubik's Cube
+ Tao's Adventure: Curse of the Demon Seal

---

This update includes all posts from 1129 to 1167.

10 posters asked me to add 46 and remove 11 games, for a net change of +35 to the total tally.

The most popular games this update were Elebits (Eledees): The Adventures of Kai and Zero and Suikoden: Tierkreis, with 2 additions and no removals.

++ADDITIONS++

There were several new titles added to the thread this time. They were:

Elebits/Eledees: The Adventures of Kai and Zero
Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming (NA)
Honeycomb Beat
Ivy the Kiwi?
Overlord: Minions
River King: Mystic Valley (aka Harvest Fishing)
Sonic Classic Collection
Ys Strategy
Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Stardust Accelerator: World Championship 2009
Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2008

All of these titles are uniquely owned, with the exception of Elebits/Eledees.

The titles Elebits and Honeycomb Beat are not truly "new"--they were previously on the list but had a count of zero due to removals.

This is the first time anyone has purchased Ys Strategy, which was never released in North America.

New International Track & Field, Rubik's World, Robocalypse, Scurge: Hive, & Tao's Adventure are no longer uniquely owned.

--REMOVALS--

The least popular games each had one removal and no additions. There are 7 total, and they are:

Bubble Bobble Revolution
Dementium: The Ward
Driving Theory Training: 2009/2010 Edition
Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure
Madagascar
New Super Mario Bros.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trials and Tribulations

Of these, 2 are now no longer owned by anyone in the thread (Driving Theory Training: 2009/2010 Edition; Madagascar).

The removal of New Super Mario Bros. results in a tie for 1st place ranking between NSMB and Mario Kart DS, each with 53 copies. These games have a commanding lead over Super Mario 64 DS/LoZ: Phantom Hourglass (each with 41 copies) and Chrono Trigger/Tetris DS (each with 31 copies).

Last Window: The Secret of Cape West is the sequel to Hotel Dusk: Room 215. Gameplay, graphics, and excitement is just on the same level. A new soundtrack, a new location, new characters and new puzzles make the difference. I hadn't much time to play it because I have several important things to do lately, but when I have a bit of time I'm always playing one or two chapters of this game until I have to stop. Again you play Kyle Hyde, and after 15 minutes in you'll already be addicted by the story and atmosphere. Comes highly recommended if you love adventures. But play Hotel Dusk first, if you haven't already. If you don't know Hotel Dusk, it's a text heavy, story driven graphic adventure with multiple choice dialogue, nice puzzles and an unrivaled pencil art style made by CING, the developers of Another Code and Little King's Story. Support them by buying Last Window, even though they're bankrupt now.

Rooms: the main building is a puzzle game with a few unique aspects and adventure elements. I would get this on Wii (higher resolution) if you are in America - but Europe unfortunately only got the DS version. It's one of those games you really need to try to see if you like it. You don't only move your character, Mr. X, around to pick up keys, climb ladders, use "teleport phones", "change place cupboards" etc., you also move the room you're in across the playing field. By playing through about 100 stages, you get items you can use to make progress in the "overworld"; a city with various locations and characters. I read there's a demo version and a 10$ PC version; try out first.

Would have rather started at the 1st game but it was a gift so I can't complain. These games don't have any big connecting story or anything right? The only problem with going out of order would be like gameplay and aesthetic improvements?

Nope, there are none of those either. The gameplay and aesthetics are the same. The first one actually has the strongest puzzles of the three, so definitely look it up when you're finished with this one.

Oh my gosh - how is it that I didn't know about this??? I absolutely need to get it. I loved Hotel Dusk...I assumed there was no chance of a sequel since the company failed. I'm delighted to hear I was mistaken. This one is seriously at the top of my wish list now.

It probably won't get a release in NA, though. So you will need to import it.

Okay. So long as it has options for text in English or Spanish (so I can read it), then I'm game.
