| Do you like my helmet? | + The Settlers I remember playing this on the PC back in the day, and this copy was only $3! I figure it must be a really terrible port or something. |

Blog Entries: 9 | I loved the original Settlers game, and I really wanted the DS version, but after I've read about the unanimous reports of horrible slowdowns and very frequent crashes that exist in the game I couldn't be bothered to have wasted my money on it.

| Do you like my helmet? | Yeah, I love the original. I'm hoping I can stick it out through the problems. God knows when I'll ever get around to trying it out, anyway, though. Worst case scenario it'll become trade fodder. |

| The Settlers on DS works good so far. I have played 2 sessions for some hours. No slowdown. No freeze. No bugs. I thought it was a good port. |

Sorry, it had to be said given the extremely low number of German console releases. ^^ | |

| It keeps the visuals and music nostalgia intact. Yeah at first it seems to be a real Giana Sisters game, where the development team has put some serious thoughts into bringing the audiovisual feel from the original over. There are some good additions, in finding 3 red emeralds in every stage to unlock a secret stage in each world. You can go back and forth the stages on a world map. There are some additional things some may find cool, but I think it's driving the game away from what it made it so fluid and special, so fun. For me I've beaten the original game day after day, hour after hour, over and over again. It was straightforward, it was zooming through. Finding the best path and all secret warp zones. Now this new version is different. You can scroll left, up and down, whereas the original only scrolled to the right. The time-attack-gameplay is gone, no warp zones at all, and exploration gameplay has been added. A bad choice for me personally. The developers changed the gameplay and that isn't a good thing for me. Giana Sisters was such a good Super Mario Bros. clone... and now it feels like a generic platformer. | got some new games: Giana Sisters DS Chrono Trigger Dragon Quest Lock's Quest Giana Sisters is great!!! Won it during ncon in late march, one week before official release. I luv it!!! Well I guess u haven't seen 8-4 yet, because it is 32 levels of the original Giana Sisters with all the warp zones. Found X-1, the title screen, X-2 pops up after u finish the final level, but where is X-3??? Finally Chrono Trigger!!! Waited for this game for years. I like the ds gameplay. It is very easy to handle. Wanna see the extra dungeon, but that can take some time. have to finish FF3 first. Haven't started on Dragon Quest yet, so can't tell how it is. Lock's Quest is a good game. Kinda like Age of Empires. Just the gameplay is a little bit slower. Haven't seen much. Just beat the first level. |
