| Mega mole | So Pokémon HG/SS has officially been released in all regions and it seems many of us have Pokémon fever... Considering a major portion of this game is about battling other people, I figure it would be fun to have a sort of tournament or league type thing (ala that Mario Kart Wii race group Trapster runs). If you're interested, let me know... And also mention if you'd be more interested in having a full fledged tournament or would like to do a league type thing (I'd personally prefer the league, since we can bring different teams and such to each match). I guess we can also use the time to have a bunch of people running around in that carnival thing, since that seems pretty neat in a kind of screensaver way. People Participating: enigmaopoeia lordbowser Jogurt the Yogurt neuzd Trapster Tides of Chaos hansolo350 slavko123496 Shadesofgray PoisonRamune FroguinZX Friend codes can be found here. | I am interested in participating. I can't wait to get far enough in the game where I can go into the Wi-Fi areas. |

| Casual gamer since 1978 | I'm in. Not sure to have understood all that's been said, but I still have to start my game (I guess in a few minutes I'm gonna run it, though). I want to play just for the fun of it, so probably a more open league is what I'd vote for.

| I'm in. I'm probably not far enough yet in HG to be of any challenge yet. Might have to transfer some pokés from my other games later. |

| Mega mole | I was thinking at least waiting until HG/SS was a month old on the NA side (so two more weeks at the very least). Unless people here have comparable teams sooner (which I kind of doubt, since I believe I'm furthest along here). Either way, it does seem to be the DS game I'm going to keep in my sidebar on the now playing, so hopefully we'll get a few sessions in before we get sick of the games. |

| Do you like my helmet? | Just a note, I don't care if I play people with better teams than my joke cutesy water team. I don't care if I get wrecked. I just think it'll be fun to take advantage of the battle mode etc. for a change, since we've never done anything pokerymanz related here. |

| I'm interested in this. I'm not ready right now, what with only 3 badges, but it shouldn't take me too long to get a team in the 40's. And yeah, I guess a more open league thing would work better. |

| It would be pretty cool if we could get an open league going. |

| Mega mole | So we just realized that the online battles scale your pokemon levels to 50 if you pick the lvl 50 battle option. Now that we know this, do you guys currently have mons with workable movesets? We can possibly start a heck of a lot sooner, since we don't need to be concerned about "Are the pokemon strong enough" but more so "Do we have the right ones and do they know the right moves." Also, I know there's a lot to do in the game and many of us here have not even gotten through the "story mode," so if you prefer to focus on just getting through the game first. That's ok too, just let us know. Last edited by PoisonRamune; 9th April 2010 at 05:28 PM. |

| Ooh, is that how it works? Right now my Pokémon are all loaded down with HMs needed to get through the game so if it's moveset based, I'm kind of screwed. It might be best to wait until I at least get to the move tutor place, although that's only 1 gym away for me so it shouldn't take long. |

| Do you like my helmet? | I'm perfectly happy to play against people with my current mostly crap moveset including HMs since there are other people like me who are still going through the game. Most interested in seeing what the minigames are like, too. |

| I like the idea of an open league and would like to participate, but my school year is winding down to an end. Over the next few weeks I'm going to have a lot huge projects to work on and deadlines to meet. I doubt I'll be able to start participating until near the end of May. |

| Mega mole | Just bumping this to remind you that there was some fail league planned at one point. And also, I'll be debuting my trainer's choice team in 4 days (I think, it might actually be 8 since I'm not sure if i'm reading this whole beauty/Milotic thing right). |

| I think we're all still interest in a league PR. I'm pretty much ready to start battling myself so if you want to fight later this week I'll be there. |

| Do you like my helmet? | I'm free during the day, sometimes, if I'm not out or working. Heh... I don't have a set work schedule right now since it's exam time. I'm often out/busy in the evenings. |

| Mega mole | Well, the game has been out for over a month on the NA side and it also seems that many of you tenacious European kids have at least tackled the Johto side of the game, so perhaps it's time to start getting into the heart (Gold) & soul (Silver) of the Pokemon world. I realized in a crazy dream I had last night where I was driving a lobster car along the beach and picking up zombies with the car's claws; that we really don't all need to coordinate our available times, since this is a one on one thing (unless we want to march around in the carnival, which actually isn't very fun). So basically, I'll make it that it's your responsibility to schedule at least one match a week with each one of the other participants. I think this will work out better since us working stiffs can can casually burn out a couple matches in the pm hours and on the weekends. And the kids and layabouts can work out matches around their busy schedules of watching TV and using the restroom. The game also has the advantage of being a handheld RPG, so it's inherently easier to get matches done here than with a competitive console game like MKW or SSBB. We got about 11 participants (as of 4/19/10), so that breaks down to 10 matches a week. I'd really like it if you tried to get all or a majority of those 10 matches done each week, since it would kind of keep the momentum up and keep this from becoming a 2-3 player vacuum. The league weeks start on Mondays (12:01 am PST) and end on Sunday (12:00 midnight PST), I probably won't be anal with the time, but it makes it look more respectable with it there... Please feel free to post results (including the team you used and moveset, since we'll all get to learn each other's pokemen in time), commentary of matches (but keep the poo-poo talk to a minimum), strategies/what I could have done different, battle videos, etc of your league matches in the replies. I guess we're starting as of now... However, I'll let these first few weeks be light weeks since it seems some kids have school stuff going on now and Trapster is still working on a better excuse as to why he can't battle. | Mega mole | Just to let you know... It's never too late to jump in and join, so just let me know and I'll add you to the list and let everyone know you're playing long. Also, until I get my trainer's choice team going, you'll be playing against the Hall of Famers (a mix of my Kanto and Johto teams that beat story mode). |

| Hopefully I get time to put together a joke team in addition to my regular team. Although if levels scale to 50, I would just have to worry about acquisition, not about leveling. |

| Rip Van Fish | I guess I'll also be in, but I'll need a couple weeks to fine tune my pokemon with correct movesets, held items, and stats. When I get them to acceptable standards, how will we go about this for newbies?

| Mega mole | Most of us have secondary (or in Jogo's and other's cases, primary) joke teams as just **** around fight fodder. Like I'm working on 2 themed teams "Apes-a-Poppin": all monkeys and Charlotte's Web with pokemon representing the story's main animals. |
