After seeing the E3 videos, I'm really excited to see this including Kid Icraus, PilotWings Resort, and SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV [3DS]. I hope Super Smash Bros. gets a consideration for 3DS.

About time Nintendo adds a analog stick thankfully, even though it's probably only for 3DS software (unless something magical happens, but I doubt it). Overall, the design of the 3DS is pretty cool and considering to get it at launch when available.

Kid Icarus: Uprising lookes good. Just saw the E3 trailer. Great moment when
Icarus flies and says "Sorry to keep you waiting". Was that towards the Goddes
of Light or to the fans screaming for a Icarus game all those years?

The in game 'guiding' voice reminded me of the 'guiding' voice in Turok 2 (N64),
they sound almost identical. After checking a Turok 2 video, I must say they're
not identical. But still, they're very similar.

About the 3DS, it sounds very promising but I don't know if I'll buy it at launch.

Has potential, but it'll need some games to be worth a purchase. The first year or more will be mired down in half-assed N64 and GCN ports. After that, they may start innovating and making good use of the technology. (Same thing that happened with the DS and gimmicky touch-screen and mic implementation.)

Agreed, and just to add, I won't even consider buying it unless a Virtual Handheld service is announced.

Since I had my first Nintendo console (a SNES)
I bought every Nintendo home console (Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Wii) on Launch day.

I never was too fond about the handhelds. The big systems, the home consoles are the sweet meats!

I think the Nintendo 3DS is the first Nintendo handheld console that I need to get on Launch day.

I need Kid Icarus, Paper Mario, Ocarina of Time, Resident Evil, Metal Gear, Pilotwings, Starfox, Dead or Alive, Professor Layton, Animal Crossing and Nintendogs in 3D!

NO! The software actually doesn't matter this time (odd, because these are the best launch titles a system ever had), but still... NO!
This time it's all about the amazing hardware: It's all about the insane 3D effect.

I buy it because I always wanted to take pictures in 3D, also I'm curious about playing movies in 3D, but it seems playing games in 3D is where the real innovation begins, but that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Not only 3D graphics, but a graphic chip like the one in the Gamecube with a much better resolution and a widescreen top screen! Wow!

Not only Touchscreen, Digital and Microphone controls, but also Motion, Gyro and Analogue controls! Bow!!

Not only 256 MB games at most but 2 GB!!! How!

And the kinda funk-chip that saves contact modes for all games, anytime, even when the system is powered off. Mow!!!

And still the good old stuff: Wireless (and free) online, SD card support, free internet browsing, app shop, DSi compatibility, Wii connectivity.

But most of all I need it the first day to be amazed by 3D!!

Nintendo handhelds are generally as good as, if not better, than Nintendo consoles (with the exception of the Game & Watches, which are pretty crappy, the Virtual Boy, and the Game Boy Color, which had like 5 good games on it).

Personal opinion and gameplay preference. I used to be all about the consoles, now I'm all about the handhelds.

Also--lol @ writing off the entirety of the GBC library.

Also lol @ "handhelds as good as, if not better than home consoles EXECEPT GBC, VB, G&W.".

Objection, Refa! You mention 3 systems that weren't "as" good, but all home consoles were "as" good!!

If the 3DS would be out now, I'd get one, but if Nintendo announces the next home console in the meantime, I would save my moneys for the Wii 2 and get a 3DS another time. So, yeah, personal preference, and right now a revolutionary home console is still more important than a revolutionary handheld for me.

Still I want the 3DS, so I get it sooner or later.

Well yeah, it has a pathetic amount of original games that are worth buying compared to the original Game Boy, the GBA, or the DS.

I dont think I will be getting one at launch. I will have to wait a bit to see. Plus I will be busy with the new wii games anyway. But I still really want to get one!

Okay why on Earth does everyone seem to have it in their head that most of the 3DS games we know about are launch titles?

The ONLY confirmed launch title is Kid icarus, the rest we don't know about.
I'm sure we saw stuff like Mario kart, animal crossing etc before the DS came out too they certainly weren't launch titles.

Just curious if this is gonna be like the DS Lite/DSi thing where some games weren't compatible ( see Guitar Hero not working on DSi due to lack of GBA port). I could care less for the 3D aspect but would love to get my hands on the new Kid Icarus game. Since there is a slider on the 3DS that controls the 3D effect and you can adjust it up or down one would assume that it can be turned off altogether. I'm hoping this means I could play Kid Icarus on my system without wadting my money on the new one.

You're going to need a 3DS system for sure to play those games.

I'm pretty sure when it was unveiled, Iwata said you could turn it down, or even turn it off altogether.

I think the analog stick on the 3DS will allow for much better controls while playing Super Mario 64 DS!

The one thing that bothers me about the 3DS is the d-pad. It looks kind of hard to use with it near the bottom of the console like that. Anyone else feel that way?

Oh, I thought that just meant aesthetics, not the actual placement of buttons.

Maybe, I dunno. I'm sure it's undergoing some quality testing, and if a lot of people complain about the d-pad it could get shifted a bit. I think it would make more sense to have the d-pad nearer the top with the slide pad under it.

At least its backwards compatible with most DS titles and DSiWare. Just not stuck on the whole 3D thing. Movies suck that way and don't see how this will really make a game better. Even if it makes seeing a platform to jump to easier to see, you still have to make a judgment on when and where to jump.

You guys do know Nintendo is going to make you rebuy all of your DSiWare games, right? They've already done it with the DSiXL.
