| Casual gamer since 1978 | OK, just got home with my shiny copy of Pokémon Diamond. We can use this thread to share friend codes, and infos on which monsters we need or organize battles and exchanges. This may turn out to be a redundant discussion, but I can't keep myself from opening a Pokémon topic today! Happy catching.

| Had Diamond since Wednesday courtesy of Gameplay =] I'm loving Pokémon all over again! It's the same old formula again, but it hasn't lost any of its charm or addictiveness. And my code: 0774 1555 4093

So... Because you said "Sorry Neuzd" that makes me think that you posted yours after Neuzd did. So his is now the official one and the others are getting tagged. Simple.

| Casual gamer since 1978 | I can't understand all these hate for starters. I like them all, probably Totodile is the only one that I don't feel so appealing. I say this because I read several times of people disliking the starters from the 3rd and 4th generation. Anyway for eveyone who just began their game and is doubtful of which starter to get, here is a super simple solution (it's unlikely that you didn't already figured it out, but for those who didn't thought about it, this is a nice hint): Have a friend nearby. Start a game and reach the first town with a Pokémon Center, play until you catch another Pokémon. Trade your starter with a Pokémon your friend doesn't need. Turn off your DS and delete the game (very important, because if you just start a new game, you won't be able to save). Start a new game, choose a different starter and repeat all the sequence. Repeat until your friends have the required amount of starters you (and your friend...) want. I know this is a very old trick, but maybe someone may not have realized it. It takes some time, but it's just 15 minutes long to the first town, so in an hour or so, you may be able to have all the starters.

| Are all the Pokemon in these games, or do you require the 5 GBA games too?

| Casual gamer since 1978 | You need the GBA games. The real problem now is that the transfers are one way only. So if you're going to transfer your precious Mew from a GBA cart to the DS, you won't be able to get it back. I thought that this could be the right time to exploit an infamous Emerald glitch: porting a clone to the DS and then freeing it (I'm gonna do this way: just for Pokédex entry).

So I was gonna get it. But now, nope. Because i've done further research and a few of my favourites including my favourite and team captain, isn't on the game without the GBA carts. So nope. Ninty are money grubbing *******s!

| Casual gamer since 1978 | Where would the fun be, then? I like trading monsters and getting organized with my friends to complete everyone's dex. Even more, I think the version differences (in Pokémon encounters) are too thin, and I would like that Pokémon exclusive to one version, to be new ones. But no, mostly old gen monsters fall in this category: I don't care about them, I'll have them when I plug my GBA carts. I also have bought just one version of every game, so I'm not that PokéNerd. Anyway, 'trading' is the most important aspect of this line of games, it has been like this from the beginning, and also the trade of different things, like 'informations': how many games have you seen with so many hidden features? Oh, and for the price of the game: from GameStop/EBGames preordering the game and bringing them 2 DS games(Nintendogs, Hotel Dusk), let me purchase Diamond with just 1€. [EDIT after Mendez post: yeah, now that we can get online, completing the Dex is way easier]

Blog Entries: 9 | Over the years, I've looked at this series with much skepticism. That said, I've been pondering whether I should finally give it a try, especially now that one is able to trade globally. Is there any real discernible difference between Pearl and Diamond other than a slight difference in pokemon to be had? I certainly wouldn't get both.

| I have no idea why, but I found the first gym so so difficult I had to train Zubat and Geodude for ages, then I finally just scraped a win. (At one point Chimchar was my last Pokémon and had 1HP) I had: Chimchar lv. 16 Shinx lv. 14 Geodude lv. 9 Zubat lv. 10 Geodude managed to take out the Onix alone :P

| Casual gamer since 1978 | A water or grass Pokémon would have helped a lot. I think you got the most inappropriated team ever for that gym. Why fire, poison and electro pokémon? You got a lot of weaknesses and your best moves are uneffective. You should have trained a grass or water pokémon. Ok, you got Chimchar, but there are at least grass monsters to be cought in the way to the first gym.

| What Grass ones? I didn't see any... I have mainly played it at night, so if they're day ones I probably missed them. I'll need to get someone to trade me a water one on ONM once I've picked one I want. Anyway, my code is 0172 8639 5758 for people wanting a battle.

| Casual gamer since 1978 | Budew is one. A water one is Buizel, but maybe it is past the first gym... And I don't think the early pokémon you meet have particular day/night activities. Mine has been catched almost surely by night. I can't assure you anything, but probably I'm gonna be online tonight, and we can exchange pokémon. Keep an eye on vc-forums, because it's the only place we can meet tonight. If I'm there, I'll just have a Wii connected, so I can't even use the chat. Also, I didn't connect to NWC with Diamond, so I can't forward you my code right now. And of course I can't tell you an hour. I would say not before 22:30 (Rome-DST). I'll try PM you, a Western Shellos is what I can easily find at the moment.

| Casual gamer since 1978 | I was thinking to delay this message for when the times are mature, but I'm a bit excited so I can't keep this secret for long. A friend of mine found his starter Piplup to be FEMALE. This is one very lucky event, chances of having a female starter are very small, this was hardcoded by Nintendo to push the trading aspect of the game. So, if anyone is in need of Piplup and his line of evolution, we can get as many as we want. We both need to get to the breeding center though (well, I'm behind the corner, he's still far), so it isn't something we can do right now, but well, keep this in mind and PM me to order your very own Piplup.

| Retro Gamer since 1985 | I've got diamond and love it. I haven't played pokemon since red and blue so I caught Pokemon fever again. Until my dad gets wireless internet in my house however, I won't be getting my friend code until then or unless if I go to a hotspot or something. |
