Default News: DSi 3G

Okay..... THIS IS GETTING ANNOYING, I was just about to buy a DSi, then I found out that Nintendo have released in Japan, a DSi XL/LL, which stopped me buying a one.
I looked up a review of the DSi XL, to see if it's really worth waiting for.... then guess what I hear in that Review.
PEOPLE ARE CLAIMING, THAT NINTENDO ARE MAKING A DSI 3G, to some people this would be quite good, to others like me that just want to buy one, or already own one, this is very, very frustrating.

Read about it here: http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2009/11/03/dsi_whispernet/

This hasn't been confirmed, but enough people are talking about it.

Why would this stop you from getting a DSi?

With all the money you would spend on a monthly fee for a 3G dsi, you may as well just buy a dsi now. 3 years down the line is that $170 dollars really going to make a difference against the massive amount spend on monthly connection fees?

Also read this quote from the article.

"However, he stressed that the launch of such a service is just “one option for the future”, adding that he thinks it will“take a long time” before the industry in general moves to digital downloads."

why wait 3 years....

Whats the point of buying one, if an upgrade will come out in a few months?
I don't know if the DSi XL is for me though, I'm starting to think it maybe to big, I like small hand-helds, that's the point of them, there meant to be small.
Having a DSi that size, also looks a bit childish, but I should only be caring about my experience, I suppose.

I have heard the DSi XL, is pretty good though, the quality of the screens I heard are good.

Quite a hard choice to make, thanks Nintendo.

In that case, the DSi 3G is out for me, but it's going to be hard choosing between the DSi and the DSi XL.

The 3G won't be out in a few months. If you're willing to wait a few years for the next gen system, then you can't have wanted it that bad in the first place...

Also, I'm with you, I think the XL is way too big for a handheld system, especially with a stretched low-res screen. So it's not much of an upgrade, more like a sidegrade. If you want a DSi, go ahead and get one.

Thanks, your right, I should just buy a normal one and I will.
There's no real point in waiting for the same thing, but larger.
If both these models would have released at the same time, I would have bought the smaller one anyway.

Just get a DS Lite if you're into the DS business, apart from DSiWare it's easily the best one and you can probably find it quite cheap.

I would, because I really want to play GBA games.
However, if I was to but a DS Lite, I would also be incredibly ****ed if GB/GBA games re-released on some kind of VC for the DSi.

Its true, the DS Lite is very cheap now. If your standards are mostly targeted on the basics of DS you should go for the DS Lite.

I wouldn't say "very cheap". I'm wanting to replace my fat DS eventually with a lite model but at the moment they still seem to be in the £80-90 bracket in the UK at least. Of course, it goes without saying that I'd never buy anything videogame related in the land of the rip-offs that is Sweden.

I am starting to wonder how much longer lites will be available for though, which is making me itchy to get one.

My question was kind of rhetorical... basically my point was that if everyone passed on current technology and simply waited for the slight updates that are always filtering down, no one would have any gadgets. I'm not getting a cell phone because I heard there would be a cheaper one with better features coming out in 6 months! I'm not getting a new laptop because by summer I could get one with a faster processor!
