A report or a rumour? I've never heard of them developing something like this.

It was definitely just a rumor since Nintendo never said anything about this game.

I think the rumour began because Miyamoto bought a cat and people assume that everything Miyamoto does in real life eventually becomes some sort of videogame....which in this case it once again has.

The game will feature such endearing activities as hearing the cat use your furniture as a scratching post, and only ever seeing it at meal time.

Nintencats will also integrate with your other games by obscuring the screen during pivotal gaming moments.

Don't be silly. Cats aren't like that are all.

You'll hear the cat eating plastic and puking. If you are quick enough to catch the cat before it swallows the plastic, you'll manage to keep it from puking out of necessity...but it still might puke out of spite because you took away its favorite chew toy. Oh those wacky cats!

There's also a minigame involving cat vomit! After you hear the cat puke, you get to race around the home trying to find where the cat decided to deposit its gift! The quicker you find it the easier it will be to clean it up.

You earn coins by regularly caring for your pet, and you can spend them at a store! Buy cute outfits for your cat like a little Mario outfit! And don't forget to buy antiseptics for the scratches you'll receive attempting to put that little outfit on your cat!

Donno. Maybe Nintendo wanted to just do Nintendogs + Cats just because it reflect the company's name!

Cats are Affectionate loving & interdependent for which the last one certainly doesn't apply to dogs.

Wow, so I see your rabid fanboyism goes farther than just consoles... Since it's obvious there are no such things as wild dogs.

My cat definitely gets upset when my husband or I leave, and she's always waiting at the door for us when we come home. If she's in my lap when my husband's coming home from work, she'll actually leap up out of my lap and race to the door to get there before he opens it. When we're coming home together, we make guesses about which of her door-watching spots she'll be in.

What about the 95% of dogs that don't do that?

All of the cats that I've seen are lazy and couldn't do a thing for themselves...

It just happens that my cat wants to be affectionate by sitting on my DS / wii remote whilst I'm playing a game.

There is a game, either for DS or 3DS, in the coming soon section on NintendoLife called Nintendogs + Cats. I don't know if it's relevant, but it could be the one you speak of.

Might be. That game was mention in Nintendo's online press kit.

Well i heard beforehand it was a standard DS game well before i created this thread (July 2009 thread was created in) but it looks like they scrapped that version in favor for the Nintendogs+Cats for the 3DS.

My cat will leave the DS and controllers alone, but she'll sit on the laptop unless I move it up to my chest so she can get at my lap.

She doesn't care much for waggly games, it upsets her lap perch. But no matter how much she hisses at me I keep playing my games. I think she's an Xbox fan.
