I wouldn't bank on that.

The GBA thing is going to vary from person to person, depending on how they actually play their GBA games. A lot of people play them on their DS Lites, but a lot of people use Micros or the GCN player and can deal with the slot sacrifice, so the impact of that change depends on the player's needs.

I'll probably buy one when the VH comes out. I've kinda been embarrased about taking my DS lite into public because of all the grime stuck in the crevices and the huge scratch on my screen. My shoulder button acts up quite a bit too.

I was also talking to cute EB chick, and she said they only had 2 DSis reserved. The chick at the other EB said that 50% of their 6 blues and 12 blacks were reserved, but they figured they would all be reserved by the time tomorrow comes. It doesn't look like they're going to be a big line-up-at-midnight sell-out-in-10-minutes item, but who knows.
I waltzed into Walmart at 5:30pm Sunday afternoon and they had an entire rack stuffed with them behind the glass. Judging by the way that each color was stacked in one solid rectangle, one Blue DSi had already been taken (corner missing), and the blacks were still filled in solid. I bought a black one. I had a feeling that the launch would be uneventful due to the relatively little-to-none marketing hype.

Personally, I think the DSi matte black finish looks a little dull, leaving me wishing I'd gotten a blue one instead - maybe I should jazz mine up by decorating the lid with Swavoski rhinestones

Thanks for the tip-off

Actually, OGG/Vorbis is the best format, and it's patent free! The default quality, "Q50" typically averages between 144-180kbs VBR (sometimes lower/higher) and still sounds just as crisp as the original audio track, compared to over 200kbs for LAME Alt-Standard. In addition, even at its lowset quality setting (Q -10), the audio is still acceptable for streaming. The distortion track (created by subtracting the encooded file from the source WAV) sounds like white noise, simular to a tape deck or vinyl record, not the "gurgling mud" effect as low bitrate mp3s do. Problem is, very few media players support open source codecs, which is why I got my Cowon A3

Gee i wander why they getting Wii Fit then .
But seriously i be eargaly awaiting for Nintendo to announce the DS successor .

Plus i can understand the extra RAM for the camera which is also utilised via the DSi browser but i can't see any reason for extra CPU speed especially for a stopgap system .
I like to know where you got the info from .

More importantly, the DSi sports a CPU clocked at 133 MHz, as opposed to the DS Lite's 66 Mhz, and with 16 MB of RAM has four times the RAM of its predecessor.
Kotaku DSi Review

Well, here's one source, for instance.

Not convinced that those are the specs? Uh... OK.

How about these guys who tore a DSi open and catalogued all the parts:

http://techon.nikkeibp.co.jp/english...081112/161158/

And if you're wondering why they would double the CPU speed and quadruple the RAM, it's because they don't intend for it to be a mere stopgap—with boosted specs, they'll be able to offer games that are above and beyond what we're seeing on the DS right now (instead of—my initial fear—just run of the mill DS games for the next two years).

When I learned that this wasn't simply going to be a stopgap system like we all thought, that's one of the things that brought me around.

Yeah originally I was like "**** DSi!" but now the only thing putting me off is the stupid price. The lack of gba slot is dissapointing but I bought a gameboy micro and a GBA SP (backlit) so I'm not too worried about that now. As long as some decent DSi exclusives start appearing and DSiware becomes more than a dumping ground for mini/lite versions of games then it could be quite decent

Just not intuitive enough for me to guess it.

My brother came over for dinner yesterday and had his black DSi. Slick looking, I like the soft reset and menu. He accidentally took a picture of himself and had to go through the entire camera tutorial before he was allowed to delete it. (It was an entertaining event to watch, mainly because it was a minor annoyance inflicted upon my kin.)

I still don't like the region-locking, but if enough DSi-exclusive software comes out I'll probably pick one up, eventually.

I couldn't quite find where they mention the CPU speed .

I have the Metallic Blue DSi. Got it yesterday, in a bundle with Professor Layton and the Curious Village. So far, really enjoying it.
