I was wondering, is it possible to rename Pokémon originally owned by someone else other than you? I know you couldn't in Pearl, so I was wondering if SoulSilver does the same.

I will definitely hand out my Friend Code once I get it, but for now, I need to stop playing WarioWare: D.I.Y.

I dont think you can rename. One of the NPC's in golden rod says you cant rename a pokemon you recieve in a trade.

I just got the game yesterday and im loving it so far. Only got 2 badges and im training for the 3rd. If I remember that miltank could be a real ***** to take out. Ill post up my friend code later aswell.

You can access it at any time on your PokéWalker. When you send a pokerymanz on a stroll, just choose that as your route.

To get your pokewalker going you need:
Access to any Pokecenter
A pokemon you want to take for a walk stored in one of the boxes

After you have those; save, go back to the main menu, and select "Connect to Pokewalker." From there, you should get some in-game instructions on how to set up/register the walker for the first time and also how to import a pokemon to it.

I just got a Ditto before bed last night, so I should have some Totodiles for people who didn't pick him as their ultracute starter sometime later today.

I think the only starter I need now (thanks to PR) is the fire one, whatever the **** it's called.

I couldn't agree more. I thought I'd be safe with a ghost and had my Gastly enter the battle first. Only to be greeted by a Scrappy ability. (Normal moves can hit ghosts)

I had to beat it with a combo of moves from different pokémon. Decrease its defense, paralyze it and whatnot.

I just beat Miltank with a Geodude that knew Rock Smash. Whenever it got attracted and down on health, I'd switch Pokémon and heal it, then send it back out. Eventually the thing went down. Not too bad.

I think I beat miltank with butterfree by using flash on it 3 times in a row and slowly wearing it down as I prayed for milt to miss.

I now have Chimchars for trade here... Each one comes bred with Double Kick which isn't too impressive, but will help you if you're in the early part of the game (at least until it learns some decent fight moves in its evolution).

Seriously, guys... Please try to make a halfway worthwhile trade with me, I know i'm in the end/open portion of the game, but help a pal out and maybe cut time on field catching or something... Maybe breed a starter or a version exclusive? Not complaining, but I do feel a little jilted getting commons.

I could help with some exclusive/starter of other generations, until I do more stuff in SoulSilver, if you didn't already work on those.
Every new title I play, I always go through the other carts to collect some precious monster to be bred/exchanged, so I should have something for you.
Actually many of the second gen. were also in FR/LG.

I don't REALLY care, what you give me in he grand scheme of this... But it was making me sad (in a gaming sort of way) that no one was putting thought into trades and just giving something that was probably a double.

Neuzd hit me up some time over the weekend... I might try to Pal Park Treecko, so those may be on deck shortly.

Also, it's like at least full 24 hours away of solid gameplay from nearly everyone, but let's coordinate what previous gen starters we choose at some point, as you do get both RBY and RSE's starters after clearing the Kanto stuff...

Just a quick idea after having seen the userlist update...

Since the lists are already ordered by game version, I'd list the title before each list, so that records have only 3 details and it's easier to read with the glimpse of an eye.

I was also thinking of a list of missing Pokémon...
The idea was that of doing a "master" list of monster we have and can breed so to help anyone complete, or try to, their pokédexes.
Since most likely this list would be gigantic, switching this list to Pokémon no one has could be faster to be read, though this way it may be lacking the info on who is the trainer who can help with your missing monsters.

This may help avoiding future multiple "Who has a ???", or "I have tons of ??? to trade" threads/posts and provide a single place where to discuss trades.
I admit I still didn't think about it in full.
What do you think? Is that a useful idea? How can it be improved and/or rendered easy to "use"?
Oh, and I'd happily manage it, so really just throw in ideas, or voice your opinion.

Isn't that a bit of a problem since you can't transfer/migrate pok&#233;mon until later in-game?

I might add that I have a ton of bred Skorupi since I tried to breed one with Adamant nature, good IVs, the sniper ability and a certain attack. (This isn't in HG and I don't have a second DS to trade with myself.)

A problem? Why, doing stuff "in advance" can't be a problem in any situation.
For instance, I know I want a Mudkip in this cart as soon as I can, so in the meantime I raise some in Emerald, for when the transfer option is available.

Just a suggestion but as you Pokemon players have your own topic for this might it be an idea to use the DS Chatroom to discuss the game?

This might prevent the general chatroom becoming flooded with none-stop talk about this game which is pretty much how it finds itself at the moment.

I really don't know, I was suggesting that a discussion could spark some ideas.
The intention is that of a shortcut or an easy way, to find who can trade with you the Pok&#233;mon you're missing.

The obvious way would be a listing of all Pok&#233;mon we have, along with the Trainers who have a female. But this list would most surely be massive and unreadable, that's why I thought it could be the other way around....but I don't know by now how it should work.
I admit it's not something you can't live without, I just thought it could be fun and moderately useful, so I suggested the idea.

I can only think of two ways that this list would work:

1.) We use our Blogs to state which Pokémon we have and stuff. Here's an example that I made with my own Blog:

Mines is just more detailed, but it's just an idea.

2.) Instead of listing everyone individually. Make a listing of the Pokémons and the name of the member after that, such as:

POKéMON HAVE LIST:
#001 Bulbasaur = Member 1 (Hasty), Member 2 (Relaxed).
#002 Ivysaur = Member 2 (Brave).
#003 Venusaur = Member 3 (Brave), Member 4 (Calm).

POKéMON WANT LIST:
#001 Bulbasaur = Member 2 (Calm).
#002 Ivysaur = N/A.
#003 Venusaur = Member 5 (Relaxed).

This is just an example. Their nature to the side helps for those who want a specific nature.

That's how I think it can work out without being too cluttered, if anyone have better suggestions. Then please share with us!

Or go all txt, xml, or like some other format and I can host it the files on my site...

Or I guess we can knock out commons (and version exclusives) in the chat and just use this place for rares and legendaries...
