Blog Entries: 9 | For those of you who might be interested in the next PQ you can check out some of the gameplay in this flash demo. The tile movement takes a bit getting used to, but I quite like it. A definite purchase for me.

| Mega mole | That game makes no sense to me...but puzzlers aren't my cup of tea, either |

| Do you like my helmet? | I tried the demo. Purple and blue look identical to me, but at least whoever made this game decided to actually put some thought into their game design and put little symbols on the gems to differentiate them for colour blind people. Thumbs up for that! |

Blog Entries: 9 | Caution: Stay away from the DS version. Its execution has been very poor. Actually, the game would be quite fun for me if it wasn't for the fact that every time the game switches to a different menu screen it presents you with a loading screen. I played quite a bit yesterday, but those ever-present loading screens just kill it for me. Clearly, the DS version should have been handled by the original PQ porters, since Infinite Interactive obviously aren't too familiar with the platform. Seriously, I have never seen that many loading screens in any DS game. Every change in the game follows with 3-10 second pause. Not very pick-up-and-play friendly. Not to mention, a good number of times the game won't recognize your stylus touching the screen or misinterpret it. It's really a shame.

| Do you like my helmet? | Is it on every platform again, like the last one? If so, I imagine the PSP version could be worth checking out. |

Blog Entries: 9 | *shrug* Traded it back in today. Hopefully, it'll also come to Mac like the original PQ eventually did. As said, I really liked the game mechanics and gameplay...

| If the original PQ is any indication, this will eventually hit every system. I just hope the PSP version of Galactrix fares a bit better than the DS version, and better than the original PQ, which had a few bugs on the psp as well . I really liked the first PQ, so it would be a shame to miss this because of stupid technical issues.

| I picked this up the other day - it's a good game, with a lot of improvements over the original, but also a couple of really stupid design choices. The core puzzle is fun, and the AI has been written to deliberately make stupid moves, so no more infinite chains from nowhere. Most of the minigames are fun too, but hacking leapgates is a major killjoy as there's often a strict time-limit and you have to do it all the time, plus leapgates will randomly close sometimes and need to be re-hacked, which is a particular nuisance during missions with time limits. The touch controls on the overworld are pretty poorly done too, in my opinion. I do enjoy it, but given the choice I'd pick up the PC version over this one (better looking, online multiplayer and anyone with a LUA editor can go in and remove a lot of the annoying features for themselves). I don't think this one got a release for PSP. |
