Default Game & Watch Collection Club Nintendo

I FINALLY found enough Nintendo PIN codes to get myself 800 coins and order a copy of Game & Watch Collection from Club Nintendo.

So this got me wondering...

Is it a good game? Is it worth opening?

Or should I save it and sell it later for a large sum of money?

Save it and sell it. If that's what you've been thinking about doing. It's quite unremarkable as a game. It replicates the three G&W titles it contains pretty much exactly, so it's got chunky staccato graphics and shrill bleeps & bloops for sound.

While it might not be particularly special, I still find it to be quite enjoyable. Good fun if you have a few minutes to spare and nothing better to do.

I doubt you'd ever make much money off of it, especially since by the time you're going to try to sell it there probably will be quite a few copies floating around.

Maybe. It's still an exclusive game with a lower than normal print run. 10 years from now, sealed, it'll at least be worth something.

A collectible item then? (Off-tangent) I never got the point of collecting sealed toys/games. They're meant to be played with, after all.

Some people get enjoyment manipulating things (tactile pleasure). Some people gain enjoyment seeking/acquiring/collecting things (organizational pleasure). Most people are a bit of both.

Is there any difference between the US and Japanese versions?

Game and Watch was off the radar for me. My Atari 2600 was played most during that time, so never experienced them.

Off topic: What is the difference between a Friend code and your Wii code?

Not that I know of. I could be wrong, but I don't think they're exactly very text-heavy. There is an alarm/watch option, and perhaps the options/set-up are in English vs. Japanese? This is hypothetical since I haven't opened or run mine.

You can only do surveys for those games 4-6 weeks after downloading them, and they're only worth 10 points each.

I hear hopes being shattered...

Anyway, I'm not really into the collecting thing and G&W doesn't sound that enjoyable, so I'll either pick something else or wait until Club Nintendo has something else to offer.

Friend Codes allow you to play games with your friends (IE: Animal Crossing FC, Mario Kart FC, etc.).

Wii Codes allow Wiis to send each other messages and other things (it allows for visits to others Ranches in Pokemon Ranch, for example).

Which is a steal if you buy a lot of 500 point games at 10 coins a piece.

On another note, has anyone done the Club Nintendo 'Intend to Buy' w/ the new Fire Emblem? It's the only game they have put up so far this year. That gives you 10 extra coins per game.

Also, anyone have guesses for when new things will be added to the store? I'm hoping for some special controllers or another game like the Tingle Balloon Fight.

I did that survey, yes. I used the comment field to tell them they misspelled a word in one of the questions and that I want Warsong on the North American VC.

They have a G&W Gallery 2 in Japan I just discovered.

check out this link to the Japan Club Nintendo site for other sweet things they have.
http://club.nintendo.jp/member/exec/...eNaviPrivilege

Also, for those curious of what the Gold and Platinum membership bonuses were last year in Japan, IGN lists the Japanese choices from '07-08
http://wii.ign.com/articles/835/835801p1.html
I want the SNES Wii controller.

It's pretty much inevitable that this will come to our rewards list eventually.

I have one. It's pretty awesome. Blows the classic controller out of the water.

...I want...
Did you get it off of Play-Asia or something?

I've actually been thinking about modding my own wireless one for use on the Wii.

Also, that power rangers looking game on the Japan club site was well regarded by IGN as it was on one of their lists last year for games they wanted from Nintendo of Japan.

eBay back when they were still going for around $30. Actually, I don't know how much they go for on there now.

What is that anyway? I really like the idea of cute little exclusive games like Tingle's Balloon Fight. I wonder if North America will get any exclusive ones developed specifically for us that the Japanese will have to clamour to import.

I've still got the Japanese original collecting dust here...never got around to playing it so far and I doubt I will anytime soon.

Zekkyō Senshi Sakeburein (絶叫戦士 サケブレイン,? lit. "Exclamation Warriors Sakeburein)

NOT import-friendly. I still consider importing it. Cuz I'm a nerd.
Partially voice-commanded and multiplayer-only beat-em-up. More of a test-product disguised as a gift for club members.

Says wiki:
Quote:
Zekkyō Senshi Sakeburein (絶叫戦士 サケブレイン,? lit. "Exclamation Warriors Sakeburein) is a Nintendo DS game by Nintendo and released exclusively through the Japanese Club Nintendo. This game is a multiplayer game where the players control a group of sentai superheroes by yelling some moves like "punch" and "kick" into the microphone. It was offered to Club Nintendo members in Japan for 500 points as part of their ongoing customer rewards program.

The name "Sakeburein" is a play on the Japanese verb sakebu (叫ぶ?), meaning "to shout."
