Default DONT UPDATE STARFOX 64!!!

ive been checking the ign boards and people who got the update are saying that the update reverts the game back to having massive slowdown/lag

this is apparently to make it more 'authentic' so the shooting action is excactly the same as before, but the peeps who updated are gutted, as its not reversable.

this isnt confirmed in anyway- but the people who have posted about it are forum regs.

if you dont mind the framerate dropping massively then by all means update it, just thought id warn everyone!

Hey, you post on IGN too?

Anyway, Yes, I've been hearing a lot about the update as well. It supposedly brings the game back to its original state, having some slowdown and lag as you've already mentioned. In other words, guys, it's a downgrade.

EDIT: There's been a update.

From the IGN Boards:
The patch was to improve/tweak the controls.
The slowdown seems to have been a side effect, and some of the places of previous framerate issues have retained their improvements.

so the only difference is more slowdown/lag? I don't really remember much being on the original. I still have my cart but will be selling it soon.

No, apparantly the lag is a side effect from a control upgrade.

After playing Star Fox 64 after downloading the update I can honestly say I can see some slow down but it's not too bad. If I wouldn't have downloaded the game before the update came out I wouldn't even noticed the slowdown and if that’s how the original game played then that’s cool with me.

I downloaded the game after the update was launched. Does that mean I get the updated version? Sounds simple, but I haven't experienced any slowdown whatsoever...

Unless you have a U.S Wii, then you won't have the update Tennant, 'cause the update hasn't hit us yet.

Just had a look, update has hit here now.

I heard it improved the controls so before I buy it on the 64, thought i'd try the update.
