Default Coming soon titles
What's with the "(no longer) ESRB rated" on the Coming Soon list on the main site? Have ESRB ratings been removed? Does this mean those games won't be coming to the VC after all, or just that they have to be re-rated by another organisation?

They were removed from the ESRB website so most likely they won't be coming out anytime soon.

If games are rated by multiple groups, we will state so (For example, some are currently OFLC/ESRB rated). The games in question were removed from the ESRB ratings, so I don't think they're coming anytime soon.

Why would a game have its' rating removed (this is a semi-rhetorical question, I don't expect anyone to actually know)?

Is it possible for a game to be released with OFLC rating and not ESRB?

Basically, the OFLC/ESRB/etc. ratings are for specific regions. If a game is ESRB rated, you can be sure the US will get it. If it's OFLC rated, you can be sure Australia (And 99% of the time also Europe - There's only been one exception so far) will get it. PEGI's for Europe, USK's also for Europe, and CERO's for Japan. The PEGI and CERO almost never put up ratings before the games in question are released on VC though, so don't count on those too much.

Also, the USK seems to not rate VC games anymore (They rated a few before the Wii's release, and accidentally put up about 4 a few months back, but those 4 were removed and they haven't put up any more).

Ok, cool, thanks. So losing the ESRB rating doesn't affect the chances of getting released in the UK, just in the US? Though it'd be weird for something to come out over here and not there.

It's still an indication, we nearly always get treated the worst in Europe so if a game isn't coming to America it's unlikely it'll be released here.
