I'm a civ fan, but I haven't tried civ 4 either. I'm thinking of buying the Chronicles compilation which has all the games (1-4 and the expansion packs), because I only own civ 2 at the moment.

Nice to see some civ fans out there!
yeah i remember MicroProse, what happened to them? now Firaxis makes the games. they made the first one, (not sure about the 2nd one) Im unable to check since many of my old pc games (including my original copy of the play cd of civ 3!!!) are in my storage. (anybody know how to play civ 3 without the cd thats required to play the game??? I made 2 copies but cant find any of them.. I do know the original is in the box tho...)

recommend any good civ forums like this forums?

Just a heads up for anyone who's thinking about buying Civ Chronicles. I bought it last week and the music on Civ 2 doesn't play, and it's not just a problem for me. Apparently at the last minute they had to move the music onto a different disc due to space issues, but the music isn't on any of the discs. I've been on the civfanatics forums and there are a lot of other people complaining, it seems to affect all or most copies sold in the UK, possibly all of Europe. I was very disappointed, the music in Civ 2 is one of the things I remember most from playing it originally. Fortunately I still have my old copy of Civ 2, I couldn't find it for days but now I've found it I can play with sound, but that's no good if you don't have the original.

The only Civ game I ever really played was Civ II, way back in the day on my friend's computer. I remember it being pretty fun, but the newer games have seemed harder to get into for me... must be my old-school curse again.

I use Ubuntu most of the time I'm at my computer, so I can't play the civ games except a game called "freeciv" being kind of a copy of civ 1 or 2, oh well anyways: It rocks! Really fun game.

I like that I don't loose if I blink once, I like that I can play it, watch TV, chat on IRC/MSN, go make a cup of coffee and other stuff at the same time as I play. I tried civ IV back in the windows-days and it was even better.

Another civ game is comming up: Civilization Revolution. It will be released for the DS, really looking forward to it.
