Portrait of Ruin. The reviews be damned. They're both great games if you like Castlevania, though.

Which game is the longest? Not only beginning to end, but to go through all material and replayability

Grrrr, lost my text cos i lost the signal. booting laptop up, hold on.

There.

DOS hands down. POR was stupidly easy. I barely died and didn't get lost. In Vania I rapidly run out of places to go fast and spend hours looking for new places (Which I love). POR I always had at least 2 places to go. Until I was upto the end boss when I had one.

DOS I never got the great ending first time either. POR I did. DOS I had to suss it out and unfortunatly I was told what to do I was looking if it had any unlockables and one of the secrets was how to get the ending

I played the game for ages and redone it twice. Hard mode too I must've spent 80+ hours on it. POR I spent maybe 15. POR has a poor boss rush mode too. It's split into 3. DOS you do em all in one!

POR is a good game but DOS is one of the 3 games that i'd give a 10-10 to.

I also wanted to get all the souls and uncover all of the map. So that gave me more play time too. Plus all the secret items there was to be found added to it.

Then when you beat hard mode, you get to go through it as a Belmont with some others too Although I never got around to beating it, and the games starting collecting dust once I got Starfox so I traded it in.

DOS isn't a port, it's a sequel. The touch screen bits feel tacked on (because they were and they were in POR too) but they never hinder the gameplay.

Get both, but start with DOS.

Yeah! Extremely easy! But the Nest of Evil in it is a completly different story! That was rough!

The nest of evil was Portrait of Ruin's battle arena. If you ever played Circle of the Moon is the same concept as that one but only harder.

COTM's was hard. Well, I had 100% of the map, so unless it was a secret unlockable that gamefaqs didn't mention, then I must've done it.

Mustn't have found it to hard, otherwise i'd remember it like I do with COTM's.
