the Real Academia Espaņola regulated my major!

For those who don't know, I'm a Spanish major. As a result, it is of interest to me that the Real Academia Espaņola--the "official royal institution responsible for regulating the Spanish language" (based in Spain, but recognized by other hispanohablante nations)--has decided to radically change the rules of the language I've been studying for the last 15 years.

I won't go into excruciating details about the changes, but the major change is a vast and phonetically logical...

Advice/Help wanted: dead GBC unit

I screwed up my Game Boy Color screen. Everything else works, near as I can tell. The unit turns on, loads the game, buttons work, sound works, etc. The screen, however, won't display the proper visuals. It is almost completely black: there are some very faint, flickering horizontal lines at the top of the screen.

I bought it second hand and the d-pad wasn't responding well, so I opened it up to clean. There is a ribbon cable that connects the screen to the rest of the unit. I creased...
