Default Block Question

What is the total number of blocks available on the Wii's internal memory?

Thanks in advance

Matt

May I be picky?

I think the 2163 blocks is around about 380MB, I think that's how much the Wii gives you for your own use (The other storage is used for things like the OS).

And it's enough if you're not too big-spender. If you are like me however, you will have already run out of room <_< >_>

Thank you for replying so quickly. I am a little confused about the number of blocks and the size of the memory.

If there are 2163 blocks in 512MB that would mean there are 4.224609375 blocks per MB.

If there are 2163 blocks in 380MB that would mean there are 5.69210526316 blocks per MB

But when I plug in my 2GB stick I have a lot more blocks then it seems I should. I have 15709 blocks in 2048MB. That is 7.67041015625 blocks per MB.

Since the last number of blocks per MB is based off a known value (2GB) we can use it to determine how much space is usable in the Wii.

So if we did 7.67041015625x = 2163, x would equal the amount of memory we are allowed to use in the Wii. 2163/7.67041015625 = 281.99274301356

Which means we have about 282MB of the system available to us. Let me know if I made any mistakes, if so we can get a more accurate number.

Thanks Again.

Matt

I was able to use the above information to create statistics on a games spreadsheet I created to keep track my games. Here is a screen shot of the statistics portion.

Thanks
Matt
