Hi guys, this is my first time on this forum.

I just downloaded Ocarina of time last night on the Wii through Nintendo's virtual console service. I have never played the game before on any platform so I don't know if what I am experiencing is normal or not..

I seem to have a slow frame rate and laggy controls...I am playing in the PAL region. I looked at a few viedoes of OOT gameplay on youtube and it seems to run a bit smoother and in higher detail than what I am experiencing.

Are there some setting that I can play with to make it run better or is this normal?

I am playing on a full 1080p sony widescreen (kdl-46x2000) with a classic controller.

Yes, I have it running on the genuine Nintendo component cable.

Should I try it with the standard cables that came with the Wii?

All (almost?) PAL vc games run at 50hz while US is 60hz? That's what everyone says so if you want normal speed games, import a US console
